Gosh, I sure wish they would have written books like this when I was a kid....or maybe they did? I thought this was a great read. Of course, in my mind, we're not that different from this. We're only a step a way from actual killing on TV. Have you seen some of those ultimate fight matches? You add that to a game show like survivor with the winner getting fame fortune, etc...... Kind of scary. Can't wait for the next book to come out in September...

I did not read this in high school, but at the end of the year a friend in a grade above me was cleaning out her locked and asked if I wanted it. I took it and read it over the summer and I loved it. It was the summer after my junior year in high school, I think. I also love the movie.

Very good book. Left me fascinated, but at the same time disgusted by some of the events.

I had trouble with this book. The story line was good just didn't like the way it was written. I had trouble getting into it. I may try again at a later date. I did try reading it 1 week before my due date so that could have played a part too.
love this book. i didn't want to read it because of all the hype, but it is so freaking good i'm glad i did. it all seems so real... believable...

Yarn has two meanings. Both yarns are delightfully knitted into this novel.

I read a borrowed copy of this book last year (after the death of both my mother and dog within nine days of each other) and found it a great consolation. I won this copy in a Goodreads giveaway and read it again; it is just as good as the first time I read it. It is about friendship and loss and grief and renewal and dogs.

Good as always. The team of Milo Sturgis (detective) and Alex Delaware (psychologist) is unbeatable. They are best friends as well as working together.
This is the story of the McKotch family: Frank, Paulette, Bill, Gwen, and Scott. Workaholic Frank and Prim Paulette's marriage is on it's last leg and their situation only worsens when their only daughter, Gwen, is diagnosed with Turner's Syndrome. Gwen isn't the only one with a 'condition', her's is just more visible. Each of these characters have a self they show to the world and then they have their secrets and complications, their 'conditions'. The characters are well developed and I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. However, I think the ending was a little anticlimactic. The story would make a great movie.

A painful tale of a young black girl's life experiences harshly contrasted with those of her white counterpart.
Bu kitabı okumaya başladım ve giremedim. Belki de okuyabileceği (tavsiye edemeyeceği) bir başkası?
