Along with delving into these women and other family members, one learns about the daily life and times of the 1800s and up to about the middle of the 20th century. There was a large amount of detail covered about the men in the family. There are some errors in the lineage charts and a few in the text, but that doesn't keep one from getting an inside view of the Rockefeller women and several of the men.

This is a collection of journal entries, inspiring the reader to make space for spiritual guidance. The author is easy going and humble; I enjoyed reading her thoughts.

I know lots of people think this book is amazing so I will have to try again, but I didn't get very far before I had to take it back to the library (can't renew). I'm not a history buff, so it is not an easy read for me.

Book 1 made me think of Twilight a lot even though this book came first. All this book really does is set up the characters backstories, but overall its a fun quick read. Book 2 the story got more interesting, but like book 1 was all about setting up the next book.

It's a good book, it gets kind of boring in some parts but very interesting and funny in some others.

This is a gentle introduction to using acting skills in public speaking. Most of it is simple, obvious stuff like having an objective, a purpose for what you do, and is the sort of thing you pick up in a beginning acting class. Good fun, not terribly original or insightful.
Great piece of work. Unique writing style puts the reader in a very objective uninvolved point of view yet simultaneously forcing the reader to constantly question their place in reality both in and out of the realm of the story.
Listening to on CD.

I enjoyed this book but what stands out more for me is the fact that I once read in an article that Nicole Krauss and her husband Jonathan Safran Foer spend their days writting in separate rooms only to read each other their new passages in the evenings. What a life and what a place to be a fly on the wall! But perhaps not a good omen that I remember that fact much more clearly than the book itself.

Elves are demonic predators, Vampires have been off blood for years, and a Werewolf mafia rules the ACTUAL underworld. Welcome to the Cal Leandros series. With this second book, the series cements itself as the supernatural equivalent of a private eye novel. Cal is still the narrator and we get to learn more about his world and the characters and creatures that inhabit it. Though it lacks the mid-story twist the first novel had, the twists and turns of the plot more than make up for it. Just as good as the first book, with an ending that will clench your sphincter and break your heart.
