I was blown away by this. Saundra Mitchell has truly created a lovely piece of work in The Vespertine. I loved it. It was unpredictable, even for a novel about a girl who can see the future. I can't wait to read something else by Mitchell.

Impressive. Spectacular. Fantastic. When I first started Gardens of the Moon, I did not feel quite as impressed. Truthfully, I felt lost. Erikson's world building spends zero time in descriptive back story. His story telling is character driven. As more characters are introduced, more of the back story is unveiled. With persistence, I got enough of the tail into my head that the tail picked up a head of steam and impressive momentum. It felt like the book finished reading itself. The shear scale of Erikson's world and the pace of the plot left me slack jawed. I am looking forward to more of the Malazan Book of the Fallen. Deadhouse Gates is on the night stand, ready to roll.

I read this book in under 48 hours which for me is very fast! Fiesty female, arrogant yet otherwise-perfect alpha male, Greek sunshine. What more could you ask for? Except, perhaps, a blood pressure monitor. This is definitely among the hottest 'Romantic Fiction' I have ever read. I'm finding it hard to get Andreas Lazerides out of my head.
