This book I think I can say changed the course of my life. It inspired me for years and still quotations come to mind. I read it in French. And reread and reread it always in French. Poetry in prose.

Wow, was this book beautifully written. The prose were smooth as silk from the very first page (which is expected being that this novel is all about authors). While I was reading, I was enthralled, however this was one of those books that you hesitate to pick back up if you're not in the "right mood" whatever that is (which is one reason it took me so long to get through). There are some pretty heady topics covered here, and I've found with most works of "literature" that I have to emotionally prepare myself to deal with difficult situations. I'll admit that I was completely blind-sided by the final twist; it almost seemed to come out of nowhere. I highly recommend The Thirteenth Tale to anyone who likes their characters mysterious with a major dose of intrigue.

Oh boy. I really disliked this book. I thought that Notes From the Blender was going to be a quirky, entertaining and modern twist on a blended family story. From the blurb in the jacket, I thought that Declan was going to have some massive crush on Neilly only to find out that she didn't even know he existed. Not quite. Apparently, Neilly is merely the star in his teen-fueled fantasies. I found the attempt at humor to be crude and a bit disturbing. The characters were boring and I couldn't really care less about them or what happened to them. Although I appreciate stories with alternating points of view, this one got a bit annoying with the constant repeating of story lines. After picking this up and starting to read it, I quickly began to regret it. However, I felt obligated to see it through. I'm not quite sure who I would recommend this book to. I'm pretty sure that this one is destined to get lost in the stacks.

Part fiction, part cookbook, part humor. It's Amy Sedaris - don't take it seriously, and it's a super fun read.

I really liked this book. It was fun, YA so nothing amazingly deep just a good story.

I hate these kinds of books. The antagonists are just too over the top ridiculous and evil and the main characters are stupid for putting up with them.

Jack is coming close to have run his course with this one, treading water until the "cliffhanger" of war around the corner.
Pretty funny parody of my FAVE book of all time--Eat, Pray, Love. FYI, both are being made into movies and I can't wait! :-)

i abandoned this book as too academic. I only read the first chapter and part of the last. It was not what I was looking for!
