Not impressive on any level, though the space theme appeals to kids. The rhymes are very forced.

This was... interesting. Not great, but not totally horrible. It's just a quick, quirky read.

My first Koontz book. It gripped me and frightened me to the wee hours of the morn.

Haunting short novel. I was surprised how quickly and efficiently Schlink is able to create these deep characters for whom I felt great emotion. I sense that there are larger themes at issue relating to reconciliation and guilt, but I have to admit, I haven't yet wrapped my mind around what Schlink is suggesting other than to think of the great difficulty faced by the post Holocaust German generation and to suggest some of the complex emotions that arise in love. I'm looking forward to book club discussion. Post book club discussion and post movie watching: I realize now this book is about so much more than I originally thought: yes, about post Holocause reconciliation and guilt and in a way, love, including in addition to carnal love, love of country and parents. Fabulous book (and movie) that is very evocative and rewarding.

One question: who will come and dust all these books once you decorate with them??

Lots of talk about the soul and what life is. Lots of theories about what makes up the universe.

An awesome cliche of the watchmen series with a good plot.

This (and the even better sequel) are THE reference works in recursion theory. This book is more focused on the early work in the field. Measures of complexity, hierarchies of fast growing functions, inductable classes of functions, r.e. degrees, m-degrees, creative, simple, and hypersimple sets. Some stuff on Turing degrees as well but primarily about degrees around 0' (jump inversion etc..). If you do recursion theory buy this book even if you have to search the earth for it but you might want to buy the second volume first if you can't afford both at once.
