This book was like therapy for me! I highly recommend it whether you understand the Shakespearen references or not.

The author's tips on composition were helpful, but his explanations of basic photographic concepts, unfortunately, were not as helpful.

Brilliant idea. Almost creepy imagining plastic surgery becoming so mainstream. Can't wait to read Book 2. This was my first rendezvous with sci-fi and I was pleasantly surprised.

I got this book not only because it seemed interesting and topical, but because Kurt Eichenwald is the son of my high-school nurse. It reads like a novel, complete with dialog and an omniscient perspective on what people were thinking. As entertaining as this is, it makes me dubious. Also, it came out before the trials had really started, and definitely before Ken Lay died, so it obviously didn't use any of the court records, nor did it wrap anything up based on discoveries in the trials.

This book was great. It's a super fast read and impeccably written. Steve Martin really surprised and impressed me. Admittedly, he used a few words that I could only decipher with Webster's help. I loved it - great story, well told, perfect. And I love that he had the good sense to tell the story in the time it took to tell it, leaving it in novella form rather than stretching it out another 100 pages. Read it!

Not nearly as exciting as I thought it would be. I way preferred Journey to the Center of the Earth over this. The characters were just plain unlikable and/or boring as well.

This Pulitzer Prize winner (Fiction 1969) explores some of the struggles faced by native Americans in the 20th century. It's a somewhat challenging read, almost fragmented - written with past events interwoven with the present and story mixed with myth and legend. But that felt right for the characters and the culture. The central character, a young man named Abel, returns from fighting in a foreign war to find himself torn between his father's traditional ways and the forces of industrial America. Other conflicts include a collision between traditional native American beliefs and Christianity.

In all honesty this is an overly sentimental and somewhat cheesy collection of poems. When I discovered it in a bookstore I was a very dramatic teenage girl and it seemed incredibly simple and profound. My obsession with the author was something I shared with my closest friend in high school. While it would not be the kind of poetry I would appreciate in any way at this point of my life, I remember the affect the words once had on me fondly.

One of my co-workers at the lab says that this is the well-researched and yet very accessible relationship book that she passes on to all of her friends.
