Although this book was hard for me to get through it was worth it in the end. For me, this book was about the absurdity of life and how in the end we all end up dead anyway! Both grotesque and hilarious. Overall, I liked it.

Great new series: Darkest Powers. The second book, The Awakening, will be released April 28, 2009. If you like a good spooky, supernatural story... you'll enjoy this one. I'm recommending it to the teens who liked the Twilight Series.

The premise is a bit disturbing and quite graphic - it's a memoir that documents the author's life from her character-altering rape and beating through her recovery, but I thought it was well-done, as gritty as the nature of the crime, and definitely not a self-help read. It also gave me a lot of insight regarding the nature of her first novel, The Lovely Bones.

This is a book that I read and still think about all the time. It is basically the 7 habits book applied to families but Stephen Covey and his wife (and their children) include a lot of personal stories that make it easy to apply. This is one of the those books that I reread every couple years because I like a lot of the ideas he presents. Useful, practical advice.

- i'm only on the first chapter but boy does this book start out with a bang! or should i say a slice......... - about halfway thru now and it's good! the main character, Bod, has entertaining adventures with the ever-present "man Jack" looming, ready and eager to finish his job.......... - well the book doesn't have a big explosive ending, but it was a nice ride.
