I loved this book. There always so much going on you don't want to put it down. This is only the second book in this series so I get a little confused on all the players but they pretty much explain themselves. I would definitely read this book again. This series is going to have to be one of the ones I start putting on my bookshelf. (so far I have LOTU and In Death, that's all) This is going up there with them, if/when I get them. I love the action, suspense, twists and turns, emotional rollercoasters of all the characters, humor (really great there), insanity of everything, and the complexity of all the characters as well. It's just one big happy disfunctional family. :) (trust me, I know) I love the imagination and creativity used to describe/write all the players and species. As well as their talents. I am most definitely and totally reading the rest of this series. It's great. Aiken is going in my top authors list too. Way to go Aiken! Enjoy

This book was sort of the wandering of a great writer's mind...part autobiographical, part fiction, playfully Vonnegut. Honestly, it was pretty average except for one page of absolute genius which for me made the whole endeavor exceedingly worthwhile. I do not even think that you have to read the entire book to appreciate this page so ask me if you just want 100 words of enlightened sacrilege...if you are one who will be satisfied with Vonnegut musings with classic flashes of wit. Enjoy!

To be completely honest, I never really finished this book. Reading it for my World History Class, and got to say, most of the chapters we were "assigned to read" never actually got completed. I guess that speaks for itself. I'm going to count it as one of my 50 books for the year anyways, though... Maybe I'll go back and read the chapters I skipped over?.... Why am I ranting?.....
