Wow! I love C.S. Lewis! I had totally forgotten most of The Chronicles of Narnia and I am so glad the kids got interested. This book is the beginning. It shows how the adventures began. I shivered and cried when I read about the creation of Narnia. How powerful and beautiful. A savior like Aslan is the Savior I know. I thought that the beginning of the book, when the kids go to Charn was just plain creepy - but that is the point. And how many people are like Uncle Andrew and dabbling in powers they know nothing about? Love it, Love it , Love it!!!!!!!

Book flip-flopped between taking place during 1942 and 1986. There was several glaring anachronisms during the 1986 chapters which made me question the "facts" of the 1942 sections and given my lack of power from the hurricane I couldn't look things up to check but overall it was still and interesting story.
