This was an AMAZING book. I couldn't put it down. It's the story of Cordelia Naismith of Beta Colony and Aral Vorkosigan of Barrayar. They start out as enemies and then fall in love. This book consists of the two books: Shards of Honor and Barrayar. I highly recommend it for any sci-fi/fantasy fan.

This was quite the intriguing book inasmuch as it started off with a family enduring seemingly normal day-to-day problems struggling with the life they achieved and trying to figure out if it really makes them whole and happy. Then (without giving too much away) a split second decision changes everything. I won't say more than that because this is a book best enjoyed the less you know. It does make you think about what you would do in the same situation and even then if you weren't in the same situation you almost envy the choice made regarding ones life and what if. . . As noted on the cover, it does have a Hitchcock-type feel and it has been made into a french film of the same name which I'm going to watch.

intense and interesting, it took me about three tries to get into this book. I am not sure i would continue reading and finish the trilogy. it was almost too violent and I didn't connect enough with the characters.
