This was not what I expected. When I get the unexpected, I learn to adapt. The unexpected turned out to be the story of a spoiled, self-pitying girl who broke not only her leg after a fall off a cliff but apparently her brain too. A story like that is difficult to adapt to. The plot was all over the place but I’ll try to explain it. Yuna Lee came back from a vacation in Germany as Queen of Phantasma after falling off a cliff and making a deal with a knight named Rieno so he can save her life. She has three overprotective brothers, a mother living out her dreams in music, and some friends that were good one moment and bad the next. Manga in a school setting isn’t what I usually read and that is where most of the story took place. I preferred when Yuna was in Phantasma. Even with the mystery behind Rieno and the world of Phantasma, I couldn’t get into the story because there was no consistency in plot and pace, and the characters were one-dimensional.

Classic. I read this when I was a teenager. Although I read a lot of Dickens at that time, this was my most memorable Dickens novel. Who can forget Miss Haversham? I was kind of taken aback when I saw the movie with Gwyneth Paltrow - it didn't fit at all with my vision of the story.

I'm not sure if listening to it makes a difference, but this one seemed more violent than some of the others. I have been reading the Anna Pigeon books out of order, and picked this one since I am also moving to the south.
