It was cute, but the "cute and clumsy Omega" bit was played out a little too much to make it enjoyable for very long. For a quick and very light read, it was ok. I like my monsters to have at least some monstrous moments or feelings or something. So for me, the werewolves fell a bit flat. I enjoyed the next book in the series, Without Reservations With or Without Series Book 2, much better. The characters had more depth and emotion to them. But it does look as if With Love was originally part of an anthology, possibly, so that may account for its shallow waters.

I love the way Riordan ends his books! It doesn't quite feel like a cliffhanger but totally leaves you anticipating what will happen next! The way he's woven all of the history of the family relationships and older myths is amazing. I loved every minute of this book!

There were only two stories that I really enjoyed Fairy Gifts by Patricia Briggs I absolutely love Briggs works. Her earlier work of Hurog, Sianim, and Raven are one of my top favorites for their ingenuity (I still lover her Mercy Thompson series, but in a different way). Fairy Gifts is brilliant and like most of her stories I didn't want it to end. Thomas, the vampire, of this story must use his wits to return a favor that was given to him decades ago by a fae girl. It was an endearing story and I loved it. Noble Rot by Holly Black This one follows Agatha who has her own little secret and Colin an ex rock star. It had Black's usual twist to it. However, I must say I was really disappointed with Guns for the Dead by Melissa Marr. I've read some of her other short stories and thought they were good. This one was lacking a bit, I felt like there should have been more to it than that. It wasn't really fleshed out. Yeah, the characters weren't flat, they were well done. It also seemed like a first chapter for a book than anything else.

** spoiler alert ** I have never understood why this has become a common term used when talking about "great love stories." It ends with the suicides of two teenagers. But I do like what it has to say about class and family.

A break from my normal dystopian and Victorian fiction I thoroughly enjoyed this tale set in the late 1100's, another time period I enjoy for the tale of dragons an unexplored country. While there were no dragons within these pages I was completely captivated by the "young doctor" who could "speak with the dead". Now we are not talking about seances or channeling their spirits, but actually looking at the dead bodies and learning their tale though examination. Interesting from start to finish with enough historical facts to keep you situated the story unfolds over murder and mystery which kept me glued to the next page. If you are a fictional history reader and believe in the equal and fair treatment of women while enjoying a bit of darkness in your tales this is for you.

This was my favorite book as I rounded the curve between childhood and adolescence. I can't find a copy of it anywhere, though. I really want to re-read it!
Forever changed the way I look at food and the American food supply. Should be required reading for everyone. I found myself gasping in sections and begging my husband to read excerpts. Read this and you will be sharing it with your friends and loved ones. Some readers may be bored with the history of food science, yet I applad Pollan's inclusion as it's an important contextual element. If you think that will bore you, skip to the third and final section.
Absolutely amazing sequel. Fans of everything paranormal should definitely read this. It's like nothing you've ever read before.
