Hysterical read, especially if you have lots of pets.

This book was ok. It was about the creation of Narnia, and how a boy named Diggory and a girl named Dolly or Molly (I don't really remember) started all the chain of events that started the creation of Narnia.

I loved the Rolemaster Companions. They gave you SO many supplemental rules, new character classes (battle-mage!), and items that you couldn't possibly use them all. But you could read them all.

THE FASCINATION OF COMMERCIAL FRAUD LITIGATION A review by Phillip Taylor MBE Essex Court Chambers Barrister, Paul McGrath, excels with this practitioners’ work which does a sterling job of elucidating an exceedingly complex and tangled area of law. As he points out, ‘commercial fraud is big business and it is only getting bigger, cleverer and more complex.’ He adds ominously, that ’fraudsters are typically ahead of the market when it comes to taking advantage of new technology and whilst one can sometimes read that fraud levels are reducing in one area, that is only because the fraudsters have moved on to other areas....The overall trend is in one direction only.’ Initially referring briefly to the days when restitution was on everyone’s mind, Paul McGrath affirms that ‘fraud comes in all shapes and sizes,’ from frauds on a global scale such as Enron and Worldcom, to lesser but still distressing fraudulent activity such as phishing attacks, or identity thefts, particularly in the contemporary arena of the credit crunch. Indeed IT and identity fraud have spawned whole new legal specialisms very recently. ‘The Internet -- and banking conducted other than face to face -- create unique opportunities for the fraudster,’ McGrath warns. Following a complicated genesis, the book has been written with two fundamental aims in mind: first, to bring together a range of incredibly diverse material from a multiplicity of sources into one volume for ease of access and secondly, likewise, to consolidate in one volume, ‘many of the areas in which a commercial fraud litigator might be asked to litigate.’ For a complex subject such as this, the book is a monument of clarity in its coverage and logical examination of the diverse areas and issues relating to fraud. Focussing on civil law claims and remedies, it provides a detailed treatment of difficult topics such as unjust enrichment and conflict of laws and offers practical guidance on important procedural elements such as injunctions and disclosure. There are 24 chapters split into 8 parts: a fraud overview; fraud at common law; receipt-based liability at common law; receipt-based liability in equity; statutory liability; multi-party liability; conflict of laws; and tracing, disclosure and injunctions. There are also two excellent appendices for precedents concerning freezing injunctions and search orders. ‘The author is to be congratulated,’ Lord Millett remarks in the Foreword, ‘on providing a guide through this minefield’, which, he adds ‘is ‘not a context in which certitudes...are possible. It is rather one of choices and the best that can be done is to provide the practitioner with a series of informed choices. This the present book does.’ Millett is absolutely right and that’s why McGrath’s book holds such fascination for those involved in growing commercial fraud litigation- he has brought before practitioners the necessary materials and the arguments for this form of litigation brilliantly and succeeding with his aim.
One of the few books I've read this year that I simply could not put down. Reminiscent of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, both of which are mentioned in the text. The dual story did not work at times. Margaret's story became too embroiled in emotion, so much so as to make it near impossible to read. Book could have stuck with just Vida Winter and left Margaret as a minor, albeit necessary, character.

money saving tips, some bizarre and some brilliant!
I like this book because I like Anita Blake. I like the character, her honesty and wit and stubborn values (you really have to read it to understand why she is a Vampire Hunter and moral). In this book Anita's relationships get a lot more functional, with Richard, Ronnie and Asher all getting introspective. New powers, yes, but mostly new knowledge of those powers. The monsters are even more fun than before :-D.
I love this book so far. Really interesting. I bought it last year when i went on my interview to Univ. Maryland, Baltimore (sadly, didn't get to meet Gallo, but i did see alot of his honorary degrees!) but i hadn't gotten a chance to read it until it showed up in my boxes of books from mom a few months ago! After reading that horrible flu book, i had to pick something actually sciencey and i am really liking it! gives alot of important background, but still very basic in nature so its easy to read for the non-scientist. It also provides insight and understanding to those who have not been through the rigors of academic/research science and the funding and publication traumas that are endured. anyway, i'll update when i am done! hopefully the rest is just as wonderful! UPDATE: Still love the book, the end got pretty technical but i thought it was interesting, and will be interesting also to people who might not know so much about science but are interested in AIDS/HIV

A really amazing book that is super insightful, has tons of amazing facts, and gives good guidence while forcing you to re-examine preconcieved notions and the nature of "reality" in general. Dont be put off by the "Self-help" feel the back cover of the book has, it is much more of a philosophy/psychology book.
