Disappointingly departs from its predecessor, Ender's Game, but still interesting enough. Definitely gets a little too sci-fi for me at some points, but keeps it human enough to remain bearable.

This book was a quick and great read. I can't really say enough good about it and the growth of the main character. The tables, that I'm sure real people have to do to calm themselves, was amazing to me. Steve Martin isn't only a great comedic actor but a wonderful writer also!

Mercifully short chapters... I knew it would go downhill when the sentence "Redd's cards are stacked" to describe an impending attack by a deck of cards Army. And it did...way, way down...it was awful and a poor rip-off of American McGee's Alice, a game I've loved forever. Nice idea. Poor, poor execution.

Had some interesting ideas and questions to it. The romance part was a little cheesy for me, tied up in bows. Not bad overall. The gift idea was a stronger theme than the romances so worth the read.

Never really liked chemistry... but this book makes it sound enthralling when Flavia uses it!

Wanderlove is about Bria, an 18year old girl who goes off on a backpacking adventure in South America with two sesasoned backpackers, Starling and Rowan. Along the way she encounters new and strange situations and developes a new perspective on herself and life in general. It is a wonderful story of a girl who is living and learning the only way she knows how. I loved the story and the only reason I gave it four out of five stars is because it was a little more slow paced than I am used to. But the pace was necessary because of all the descriptions of places Bria visted. I recommend this story for anyone who enjoys romance novels.
While I loved Eileen Goudge's earlier books her newer ones are not that intriguing. This book was basically boring and very predictable. A housekeeper and her daughter are forced to leave the household they worked in by the acholic mistress of the home who accuses her house keeper of stealing her necklace. The daughter who is very close to the twins of the family are very disappointed when they don't come to her rescue. Tables turn when they are adults; the house keepers daughter becomes a famous chef, while her childhood friend marries well but looses it all when her husband commits suicide. She becomes the housekeeper to her best friend.....the book goes down from there.

Just finished tonight. Really enjoyed the characters and story line, though I had figured out the mysteries fairly early on. I love how AQ's heroines are always such strong, independent women.
I saw the stage performance before I read this, which probably helped a lot - there are a lot of complicated names and places and the story is pretty convoluted. I liked it, but for some reason I was surprised at the number of differences. Plus, it's not as good without the fantastic costumes, but still.
