What an unbelievably great book - very familiar in detail. It could have been where I grew up.

کتابی بسیار زیبا، چندین بار آن را خوانده ام
I've spent the better part of two years trying to get through this book on and off, but I'm giving up at page 246 and after skipping ahead to the epilogue. It's so incredibly boring. Don't bother.

One of these books whose concepts and ideas I loved and enjoyed grappling with, yet which I didn't honestly enjoy. Still, definitely worth reading and discussing.

"The Son of Neptune" is a satisfying sequel to the "The Lost Hero," Heroes of Olympus Series by Rick Riordan. I'm always amazed that Riordan can create such great story lines and characters from the classic Greek myths an infuse them so perfectly with our modern day setting. I don't want to give much of the storyline away, for a review about this series, read the review for "The Lost Hero," but some of my favorite parts of this book were the inclusion of the Amazon warriors who are taking over the consumer world with their company, Amazon. Also, Tyson finally gets a love interest who has some interesting prophecies about Percy, Jason, and the gang. Definitely read this book if you haven't done so already.
This is to Preeti Shenoy: You can take it as a constructive criticism if your an optimist-which I know you're or you can simply put it in your junk box saying there are "drains"(in reference to a chapter in your book) like me to demotivate you and you move on because there'll be many more praising your efforts. But this is what I felt all the way even mid-way while reading: 1) All the mundane activities which u reminisced doesn't necessarily amuse the readers. 2) The book lacks humor which you promised in the preface(remember candy...) 3)Not all the experiences shared by you were routine .Some were really good and noteworthy like "stay or stray" ,"when life tricks you","the promise",etc. but mostly I felt like completing the book in a jiffy with very less to cherish or even relish (as you call it a candy or a bubblegum). 4)The stories did not sync with the main title of your novel "34 bubblegums and candies".Why because you mentioned that there are incidents which make you ponder like chewing a bubblegum which I did not see any because you just reminisced too many incidents. Lastly I hope that you take it is as what I've mentioned in the start.Looking forward for your other releases. Your well-wisher (if not a fan) Debasis

This short read is all about how not to get hooked by our constant negative thinking. Accessible, not woo-woo, well-said. Applicable to everyone!

LARGO . .
