Part of the blurb reads: "Thrown together with the handsome but volatile Dom, a series of strange and terrifying encounters lead Leven to the reason the rule existed." We don't meet Dom until the halfway point, so huge spoiler when Lev is hooking up with Shaun in the first half of the book. Oh, and at the 50% point, nothing terrifying has occurred unless you count having to read dialogue out loud to figure out "accents". The prologue caught my attention, but as is the bane of prologues, the story has yet to really circle around to that teaser. I gave it a good try, longer than I usually do since it came recommended by other m/m readers, but I can't get into the story. (DNF: 50% read) EDIT: Went back and finished reading. My overall impression hasn't changed. Some additional quick bullet points: * Spelling words strangely to indicate accents is very, very distracting. I started thinking of the MC as a buoy because of the spelling of boy as beuy. Using Ah as I knocked me out of the story every time. It was a struggle to read. * The whole first half of the story didn't apply to the second half. The first half is the MC falling for and then pining after a neighbor. The whole second half was about the MC looking for answers about his parents and why he's different. * While the paranormal aspect had some potential, since I wasn't into the story because of the other things mentioned I couldn't suspend disbelief for the rest. Sorry to say I simply didn't enjoy it. Once again, a story many of my fellow GoodReaders love fell short for me.

An easy, fluffy, and all the same complex story plot that you'll love to read. The Mediator series has a very captivating storyline of a girl who can see and talk to ghosts. Sounds weird? It definitely seems believable, and is set in the crystal beautiful life of southern Cali. You'll be falling for Jesse, the very hot ghost who lives in her bedroom, and won't be able to wait until she meets the next "project." Don't forget to read the last book in the series, you'll LOVE the ending!
One persons view of the Bolshevik revolution at it's turning point.

Brilliant. It's fitting to choose the British designation for how wonderful I think this play is, I believe. This play manages to be absolutely stand on its own hilarious, as well as a thoughtful meditation on many issues at the same time. It pushes neither on the viewer/reader on its own, nor predominantly. The satire is executed near flawlessly, and the comedic sensitivity (even in the saddest moments of the farce) could not be more on target. I very much usually wish to have some criticism to make, even of the classics that I review, but after having read this about five times, I still have none. It makes its points, delivers them well, and involves every audience I have seen when attending a production of it. The only point I would make here is that if you can have some familiarity with Hamlet, I would imagine the play becomes much more funny. I saw it after knowing Hamlet quite well, so I haven't had the opposite experience. However, this is what I am told, and given the context of the play, I don't doubt it.

I did read this book in its German edition, which was a great translation. I just could not put the book down - the characters are as real as life itself and completely not tied to their country of origin. Highly recommended!

Great for kids! Like the first one, though, not nearly as good as later books in the series.

Mycket gripande och ömt porträtt av en fader och en meditation över anständighet i ett oanständigt samhälle.

This book, told in diary form, is told in the voice of a fictional friend of Wallis Simpson. Maybell Brumby, socialite and new widow leaves Baltimore, Maryland to visit family and friends in London. There she reconnects with an old school friend (Wallis) and chronicles their life in London in the pre-WWII years, their introduction to the future King Edward (who goes by David), the growing relationship between the King and Wallis, and the fallout from that relationship (divorces, abdication, exile). While the book is interesting and entertaining, it drags in spots with too many names and the description of too many parties. I think the author actually meant to do this to show the atmosphere of 'living for parties' that these people live. You are really left with the impression (and rightly so) that these are not good people and England should be glad Edward abdicated in favor of his brother George VI (and current Elizabeth II's father).
