While some stories are superior to others in this collection from Asimov's robot series, this gathering of science fiction is interesting, thought-provoking and doesn't have a dated feel, despite a 1950 publication date.

I really enjoyed this book and found the descriptions of India very interesting. It moved along quickly and I found it hard to put down.

A beautifully written book about totally obnoxious people. The setting has charm, most action taking place in the south of France. The plot is clever. There is a killing, but I would have been quite happy to see the whole lot disposed of. I find it difficult to be interested in such nasty characters. Life has damaged everyone in the book,- but then life damages most people. However they usually have some redeeming features. No-one in this book comes over with any appeal to the reader. Perhaps I could have accepted it if it had been written as a black comedy.

I'm so glad my friend, Karen, recommended this book to me. I'm not sure I would have picked it up otherwise. Really interesting and well-developed characters. I was so fascinated by their ideas and wanted to hear more!

Lots of basic information with understandable detail for the beginning librarian.

I like every book he has written. This one is good. "Round the Bend" is best ever.

Pretty fun read, for a dystopia.

I loved this book. Simply written, simply told it contained a wealth of emotion. All 7 deadly sins are represented,as well as distrust, prejudice and pure stupidity. Happily Simonson also portrays people open to the beauty of the world, ready to make a leap of faith in order to connect with what's important. It's very funny and it's also very sad in parts, and in the end her characters realize the important things in their life. A must read.

We all enjoyed this book. It was a little advanced for Riley to fully appreciate I think, but even Declan will still ask me "if that mean man went home". This was a really good look at rural backwoods FL 70 years ago. It was fun to read out loud too.
Although I know I'm in the minority, though I think this version is better than William's Cat one published in 1955, I still prefer the Broadway ending, which though isn't any happier, has Brick finally responding to Maggie. But even in the version that I don't prefer this is still one of the best of Williams works and Williams is inarguably, one of the finest playwrights of the 20th century. If you haven't read Cat, you should. If you have read it, try looking at all the versions--the 1955 version with the two endings including an ending similar to the Broadway ending, the 1958 version which is the real Broadway version and the 1975 version which is reprinted here.
