I had wondered where Briggs was going to take this series after having visited and revisited werewolves, vampires, and fae. I'm glad she didn't revist any of them again and decided to focus on the Native American side of things instead. It was different, but I thought it was interesting. I really liked Coyote, and I hope he shows up in future books. And I hope Mercy continues to find out more about her past and her abilities. Though I really want to see more of Stephan. He's my favorite. It's late and this review is a bit rambling, but suffice it to say I enjoyed this book.

I got this book from the sci-fi side of the library, but apparently my husband (who is a huge fan of sci-fi claims it is not really sci-fi but rather fantasy. Whether sci-fi or fantasy I enjoyed reading this book!

this was a jewel of a novel about the Rubaiyaat of Omar Khayyam that I was pleasantly surprised to discover through bookclub. The first part of the book that focuses on early Persian 'history' is riveting. I've since purchased The Gardens of Light.

So far so good. I'm not sure if this book falls into the "Chick Lit" category, but if so, it does a good job of legitimizing the genre by portraying the experiences of a young woman without relying on romance book style drama. Having said that . . . if women respond to romance book style drama, which they (I) do, then we (I) should not scoff at or be embarrassed by the genre. Similarly, if women respond to stressful situations with tears, they should not have to apologize for it and be more manly. Sorry for the tangent.

The book started off pretty good and I like Jimmy Buffett's philosophy of life. However...I got bored and didn't finish the book. If you like to fish and boat then you'll love the book. That's just not my cup of tea and that's all he talks about.
