Freedom(TM) is the sequel to Daemon that patches a number of holes the writer left in the first book. The prose is tighter, the descriptions more direct, the characters are fleshed out and the plot is nicely wound down. If you enjoyed Daemon, there is no reason not to read the sequel. Writing: *The action, even combat, was easier for the reader to track. Details were left to essentials and depictions of gore and violence were in a range I enjoy. *The tech talk was less computer-centric and focused on broader families of technologies. When these new items were brought up, knowing the details of how say a Indium-Gallium-Arsenide composite was formed is a good flourish but not knowing doesn't harm you. Plotting: *The integration of MMO elements to everyday living is near masterful. A meatspace equivalent of magical items, NPCs, Area of Effect weapons, questing, and leveling are all represented in believable and non-cheesy methods. *The range of participation from the hardcore darknet participant to the friends of the darknet to dogs are done well. I expected the range of interactions to be very digital and consisting of people being "in or out" and was glad this wasn't the case. *The cloudgate quest concept was well done with the thread of the quest being not places but events. *The "hey dummies, this is what's happening" chapters were less overbearing. Problems: *The ending was too tidy. *The price of victory seemed quite low. *I think some liberties were taken with what would actually happen if gas hit $17 a gallon, unemployment hit 30%, and how international markets would be affected. *Still think the katana-wielding motorcycles were excessive.

Another funny, light read from Chelsea. Good break in between emotionally draining or intense books.

One of the best thrillers I've read, maybe EVER. Also the worst conclusion I've read. EVER.

On multiple occasions I seriously considered giving up and leaving this book unfinished. Yet out of morbid curiosity I kept trudging along. No doubt the overarching subject is very interesting and you can tell that more will be revealed at the end of the book. But it's everything else in between that makes this such an awful novel. The writing is some of the worst I have ever read. Completely unbelievable dialogue. The characterization was so bad that I didn't even feel bad for these four children left abandoned and abused. 13-17 year old children do NOT speak the way that the two main characters did. No way. Furthermore, I found their "sexuality" unbelievable as well. I'm sorry, but as much as a 17 year old boy has urges, I do not find it necessary for those urges to be satisfied as they were in this novel. In *real life* I consider it highly unlikely that it would happen unless this character had some other mental deficiencies or illness (which wouldn't be surprising, yet that wasn't even suggested in the novel).

I am fully comfortable in admitting that I have read this book twice, and I don't understand it at all.

What could be better than B-Boy Blues? A sequel, from the point of view of the super sexy Rahiem, the thuggish partner of the original novels main character. Can't help but be bias, given he is my favourite character of the series. Just as good as the first book of the series, if not moreso.
I had just read The Blind Assassin and really wanted to read a book with some sort of tragic love story. By some unfortunate turn of events, I ended up with this one. So uninteresting, another book on the "I can't believe I read the whole thing" list. Nothing really happened, and sometimes in a book that can be okay, but .. well, not here. I don't really know why this book was even written.

North America or panem in this time had 13 districts. But the 13th district fought against the capital. The capital couldn't control them so they desided just to blow up that district. 13 was destoyed. To show how powerfully and stong the capital is every year 1 man and 1 woman between the ages of 12-18 in each district must fight to the death in a arena on live televistion. Each district has its own specialty that benefits the Capitol, such as coal mining, agriculture, seafood, etc. Some districts provide the Capitol with energy or material goods and some provide the manpower to keep those in the Capitol in power. The people who live in the Capitol contribute little to their own things and are concerned mainly with the latest fashions and amusements. You are training in the capital your helper. Your helper is someody in your district that has already won the hunger games before. Your have 3 days to train borfore the games. They teach you survival and fighting. when you are in the areana your helper can get sponcors to help you in the games by sending you stuff you need. Extra food and a few luxuries will be granted to the victor's district. The government has created the ultimate reality show, complete with technological challenges and constant monitoring of the movements of the participants. And each citizen is required to watch the Games until their conclusion, which may take hours or days. This book was very full of suspense and action. But there are some parts that start to get slow or confusing. This book is meant for young adults to adults. I would highly reconmend this book.
