2010 Caldecott Medal Winner Very interesting watercolor techniques in this book. Pinkney used his brush to create great texture. The typical Aesop fable about the lion who spares a mouse's life, only to need rescue in return later.

This book is motivating! Thanks Sidra! I've already gotten rid of a number of things I don't use, want, or need! I'm moving next week and going through and getting rid of things, boxes at a time. I still want to get to the point that I stop holding onto some things, but I'm getting there.

I really liked this book. I've never read a book from the slayer's perspective, only from a vampire perspective, and it was a nice change. Val had a nice voice and I could feel her emotions and what the author was describing. The story continued with no dull parts. There was always an exciting moment or something happening with lots of action. Parker Blue did a great job writing her first novel, and I'm looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

I love books of poor Southerners, white folk, slaves trying to make ends meet... etc...This has this but has an angle of history/discrimination I had never thought about. Read this in one day because I couldn't put it sown!

It took a few chapters for this book to lock into place for me, but once it did, I couldn't put it down. The story goes some unexpected places, but the fact that the plot contains some twists and turns is just a bonus when you have characters this absorbing and prose this beautiful. I've read some Erdrich novels before but nothing prepared me for this--particularly since I haven't heard much buzz about it.
Pleasant enough, well written but ultimately pretty bland. Crappy ending.

I think the ideas in this book are very important, but the book just feels thin. There isnt a lot of substance. The book is only 115 pages, but even then it feels like it could have beecompressed down to about 40. There just isn't alot of exercises or actual things you can do to try and change your mindset.
Charles Dickens descriptions and observations of people are incredible. I was enthralled with his characters, but a bit disappointed with David's relationship/storyline with Dora and Steerforth. My all time favorite character was Mrs. Trotwood, and I especially loved her advice on marriage.
Gorgeous - strange. Difficult to pin after only one read - must read it again when my goodreads friend Patrick is done.

This book changed my life as a wife. I loved my husband from the moment I met him but I didn't show him out of fear. I learned so much about myself. My triggers. My fears. My wants and hopes. I learned how to fight fairly and not run and hide. I 100% recommend this book to every single person who reads this post. Go now....and read this book!
