I can understand why it is on nearly everyone's best of science fiction list. He created a character you genuinely felt compassion for. Apparently he ruined it with every sequel.

So far it is a great read.
Nicely translated for wider readership. I wouldnt say that this version is truly "as it is", simply because I cant compare this version with the original one (I dont know Sanskrit, the language in which original Gita is written). Nice read nonetheless. Might enlighten..
This is the 2nd of a series of books by Chris Knight and Robert Lomas. This one is signed as well.

I really enjoyed this book, it was quite humorous. Even though I found a lot of the topics in this book where "common sense", I enjoyed hearing about them from a male perspective. On the flip side of that, I can also see how a book like this can be very useful as a wake up call to some women who feel stuck in a rut. Sometimes you just have to hear, or read the things your already thinking to make you snap out of it. What I like most of all though is the message for women to have "Confidence in them selves and to have standards. Don't settle for less than what you feel you deserve". It was great hearing a man say this. :0) I would recommend this book to anyone, it's a fast, light read.

It would be difficult to be a lover of books and not read this at some point or another. The adventures of Huck Finn is truly a classic.

No drop-off in quality from The Hunger Games to Catching Fire. I am glad I discovered these books after Suzanne Collins finished them all so that I don't have to wait for the next book. Grabbing Mockingjay tonight and will get started on it ASAP.

I actually read this book for a class in school. Thankfully, it was a million times better than the previous book we had discussed and read. John Steinbeck is a master of imagery and symbolism in this story. It was a bit boring in the beginning and I felt like the pacing wasn't very good. I noticed that John Steinbeck used the word "and" a lot. That threw me off a little admittedly. Another big problem I felt from this story was that the author seemed like he was pushing his morals at me. Of course, I agree with most of his morals, but I still don't want an in your face kind of thing.

Prequel/last book in the Cormac saga offers all that you expect in a Polity novel; a fast and satisfying read, however it does not offer anything essentially new for Polity "veteran reader" and it is quite predictable in some ways. The novel rounds Ian Cormac's character well showing his beginning as soldier and later ECS agent with childhood flashbacks. It could also serve as a great introduction to the 5 book "main" Cormac saga and I think that newcomers to Mr. Asher's work would enjoy it greatly
