The Body Finder is about a girl who finds dead bodies, she can hear them and smell them and is drawn to them. Also, if someone killed something, it leaves an imprint on them that matches so she can smell killers as well. I thought it was awesome and well described how the bodies call to her and she can't just ignore them if it is too powerful. The love story aspect was sweet to a point - after awhile I was feeling, "Ok, I get it, you are in love, stop all the smoochies and get to the problem at hand." The ending was well done, but a bit anti-climatic for me. I didn't like the "There's blood EVERYWHERE and screaming and chaos!" and the chapter ends. Then the next page "Two months later...." ?????? You can tell me what happened...really...I can take it...I feel like we missed out on a lot of emotion that was going on from all of the characters. Fun read! Great premise for a series!!! I'll give the sequels a looksie!

A moving read. John Katz weaves the warmth of animal friendship with stories of the author's hospice work and of his own depression. Contains more depth than other books of this genre. I enjoyed it.

Although this is classified as Young Adult or Juvenile, Atwood relates stories that are likely so unknown that anyone would be fascinated by this book. Because it is aimed primarily at younger readers, Atwood takes time to explain some of the main concepts and names from World War II. Again, adults might find this helpful -- there is likely a name or idea you have heard but could not define. For example, I have heard of Yad Vashem, but now I know exactly what it is. Most of the heroines of Atwood's stories are normal women in extraordinary circumstances. In the United States, we know that many women took part in the war effort by turning a wrench. Europe, they often acted as couriers and spies. Most fascinating to me were the stories of how women had to think fast on their feet when confronted by Nazi soldiers while carrying secret papers or plans. Often, these soldiers were outwitted by the fact that the people in front of them were women. It's hard to read about this era, but take comfort in the fact that many of the women profiled here lived long lives. Atwood always tells you what happened to them, and gives you resources for more information. Atwood's book is a very important contribution to our understanding of this significant time.

Of course this was fantastic, moving, heartbreaking and dead-on. But...what happens at the end? I...don't get it. I think I do, but I'm not sure. Am I supposed to be sure?

The book behind what is possibly the finest film ever made. The Princess Bride is in my opinion the epitome of the adventure story, and the book is perhaps even more delicious than the film. If you haven't read it, go do it now.

Magnificent historical romance worthy of the many awards garnered. No comments for reasons explained in my review of The Devilish Montague, the second book in the series.

SLAVE TO LOVE is a diverse and sometimes surprising collection of short stories featuring dominance and submission themes.

This book may in fact be a great work of art - but I don't see it. There were some great insights, but the muck I had to trudge through dirtied them up a bit. If Joyce had had a good editor and the book were about 60% shorter... maybe I'd be on board ;)
