For the first time in my entire, adult reading life I returned a book, not because it was defective or anything, but because I really did not feel the product was worth either my time or the price. I have read wall-bangers, I have DNF'd tons of books, I have just outright disliked books. But I've always considered that just par for the course. You buy a book you may not like it that is normal risk as a consumer. Never have I even once considered returning a book just because I didn't like it. This book was a bit different. First I was hesitant to purchase it in the first place because the price point for an ebook I felt was excessive especially for an unknown-to-me author. On Amazon, it was priced at over $8.00. But I rationalized a bit... I like to support the sub-genre whenever possible, I like to discover new authors and, heck, I just got a fat check back from Uncle Sam. So I took plunge. Even with all that I was still a bit put out that this book is just a little over novella length. For 8.00 I want a full length novel. But that was just the beginning... -- the writing was simplistic -- the characters were cartoonish -- the dialogue did not feel like it should be coming out the mouths of adult, college educated, professionals -- the motivations and actions of the characters felt murky and were often confusing -- even for an erotica the sex scenes felt tacked on and shoe-horned in and awfully uninteresting Frankly, I felt insulted. Honestly, if this book had been, say, 3.99, I probably would have just shrugged and deleted it off my Kindle. But even with my great tax return I could no longer justify the price point. Can't recommend.

Just astoundingly bad. Terribly written. Either this book was written by a dozen people who stuck their sections together or they assume their audience has no short term memory, because they gave the same information over and over. The only character who wasn't an outright asshole was Bruce. I had high hopes for glorious cheese, but this book was just bad. It sullied the name Sweet Valley High.

self-absorbed ramblings of a woman who thinks you have to go to the other part of world for a year to "find" yourself. I She is way too self absorbed I wish I would have had the money and time to run away after my divorce. Instead of whining about her privileged, financially secure life, why didn't she do a year of volunteering for people that really are in a bad way?

I adore this book. My first taste of Hornby and I wanted to marry the man. His use of pop culture, especially music, references was so great! To me, as a big music fan, I loved trying to keep up with him. I also loved that Hornby is British. There's nothing better than witty British authors.

I had very little understanding of what it took to be a Geisha before reading this book. The book was excellent. DO NOT TRY TO WATCH THE MOVIE. The movie missed the whole emotion of this book.

I love The Immortals series, but the first and second book are better. The events happened slowly, and while reading I'm so eager for something to happen. I still love the book though, there are revelations about Ever's past reincarnations and sooo. And... It was only in this book that I fully appreciated Damen! seriously, I'm so inlove with him right nowww (: and I want Damen and Ever to be together, and great, something gets in the way again. hmppph. I can't wait to read the next book! But actually, I'm kinda pissed with Ever! I mean, on Evermore she has this likable personality, something really mysterious but great, but now she keeps doing mistakes and not learning from it! I hope she'll be better on the next book, pleaseee.

Beautiful, sweet story full of hope and heartache. What an original concept! Zevin's vision of what happens to each of us when we die is staggering in scope and I was humbled by her flawless execution. Dog lovers will find something particularly joyous about Elsewhere. This book is such a positive, life-affirming experience that I finished it in one long sitting and felt uplifted at the end, almost as if I were floating. Truly satisfying story and a great companion novel to Neal Shusterman's Everlost.
