This was one of those books that I will always remember. It was so creative, disturbing, and thought-provoking. I was seriously on the edge of my seat (actually, couch or bed) in the middle of the book.

My wish was granted - this series continues to get better and better with each book that de la Cruz churns out. I'm very excited that the story is becoming less and less about high class fashion (a la The Luxe...which I couldn't even finish because it was so boring) and more about the actual story of the Blue Bloods, Silver Bloods, and Lucifer. This book kept me riveted from start to finish - and I especially loved how each chapter was focused on a specific character. A real cliff-hanger at the end...Lucifer's battle is sure to make for an amazing story. I can't wait for #5.

I find that in 40's cinema, and I guess in literature although i need to read more before I make any sort of assumption, the protagonists has a self obsession almost like the ancient epics of Homer and Aenied. It warrants more reading, all much of this book warrants more reading.

I love a book that is profound but plain-spoken. The speech patterns Larry Brown has his characters employ are rich, honest and funny. He lets us, convincingly, into his characters' heads so we experience their internal thought processes/streams of consciousness. These are surprisingly similar to the dialogues I have in my own head--(upon recognition, very funny). And I always love a story that seems, almost accidentally, to come around full circle.

i had started reading this when i first got here. I had picked the book up free at Maryknoll. It seemed maybe a bit too slow. But I read it this fall (spring here) and i really liked it. And the book i have is old so it just added to the experience.

If only we could all move towards redemption as Raskonikov. But that is the subject of another book for another time.

The second book ended at such an intense place that I immediately started #3 (even though it was well after midnight!!). I have to be honest - I hated this book and loved it all the same time. I spent the first half of the book being so ANGRY at what the writer was doing do characters I cared about (I am still not reconciled to how he ended things). I spent the last 100 pages crying non stop!!! It was a killer. I was seriously disturbed by much of the subject matter - teenagers cutting themselves to feel more alive!! I enjoyed the basic themes overall - personal freedom and making our own choices with our lives and a person's ability to maintain control over themself (even in the face of surgical brain alterations). I just barely realized that there is a 4th book - I may have to go straight to the library!!! What else could happen?

I loved her other two books, but couldn't get into this one...

I thoroughly enjoyed it, but I think it would be a little boring for someone who doesn't really like Tolkien. But then again, people who don't like Tolkien should have their heads examined.
