This is a great story about kids playing pretend, which is made all the more fantastic by the addition of pictures of their superhero personas doing what their imaginations think they are doing. Can't wait to use this in storytime.

What a haunting picture of what could be the things to come. I so admire Lewis's boldness in probing the unknowable future to comment on the very tangible present. This is a quick yet profound read. I'd suggest reading it once... and then twice... and then again.

Good addition to a long running series. Abe Glitzky is such a fantastic character! It's hard to read about the super wealthy basically getting anything they want, including buying justice, but even if it's uncomfortable I do think it's real. That was the most difficult part of this book--the discomfort the the injustice of it all brings. But I will say, there is retribution at the end, and a reasonable twist.
This book is the story of the mad woman in the attic from Jane Eyre, before she came to England. Jean Rhys' narrative is unique, because her heritage is similar to Bertha's. In the different sections of the book, the narrative switches perspectives. Part one is from Antoinette's (Bertha's) perspective, then part two is from Rochester's point of view just after they marry. This book ended up being a little disappointing in terms of narrative and character development, but I recommend reading it anyway if you love Jane Eyre.
Meh. My least favorite of the three. Could have done without it.

A moving novel about Ethopian exiles living in Washington, DC, this novel vividly recalled for me the sights, sounds, and people of Washington, DC, and encounters I had with refugees while living and working there. A beautiful book.
