This was another book assigned for our yearly development. This doesn't really tell you anything new if you've read self improvement books for work before. But, it does go over it again in a very easily understood way and has some great examples of the ADKAR principle.

I think that this book suffers from trying to cover too much material. With the lengthy span of Germanic history and the many, many tribes that existed throughout that history, trying to touch on everything in a single volume just results in many one-paragraph mentions only loosely tied into a coherent narrative. In my opinion, the author would have been better off restricting the scope of the book to only a certain time period (say, the Völkerwanderung) or a single subject (such as Germanic oral traditions and literature). This isn't a terrible book, but it could certainly have been improved upon.

Like a lot of parenting books, this had some good pointers and suggestions, and some things that I didn't necessarily agree with. I did like a lot of things in this book because I have one child in particular that a lot of the principles I think may help. Each child is different and different things work for each one, so I don't know if this is a style I'd suggest for everyone. But I definitely got some good ideas and things that I'm trying to implement with my children.

When I received this book I was very intrigued about what books would make the list. As a Theology and Bible major I had a tentative list in my mind of books that I thought should be on the list. For the most part the list as included in the book. I was a little disappointed at times because I thought the discussion on some of the books should be a little longer. It is understandable because the book would have been significantly longer if the length of each book summary was longer. Overall I thought a good starting point for those looking to widen their horizons in the field of Bible and Theology.
