This seemed extremely familiar to The Small Rain, which is a much older book.

This book introduced me to sex! I found these books (the second in the series, Valley of the Horses, plus the third, The Mammoth Hunters) on my parent's shelves and they told me I was not old enough to read them. So, I read them. In the first book, there are crazy cavemen-rape scenes. In the second, the heroine is open to her sexual fantasies; in the third, she cheats on her caveman lover! Shocking. I used to re-read the sex scenes. Heehee.

The book was a fun, and dark read. Not ever really reading hte Batman universe, I was lost in some sections of the book, mostly with villains I was not aware of. Great book. Tried reading the more in depth screen play at the end and couldn't get into it. Wouldn't mind seeing this as a movie.

★★☆ It was ok Quick Summary: Bridget is feared and revered by all at her private school. But one piece at a time things are starting to fall apart around her. People who are afraid of her are starting to mouth back. Her teachers are getting over her childish ways and her college prospects are dimming. Her step-mother who always backs down from an argument is now telling it how it is. And to make it all worse there's a new girl at school who is growing increasingly popular and is of particular interest to her ex-boyfriend Liam that she's still in love with. One bad day makes Bridget decide that it's time to take the easy way out or at least call enough attention to herself to make everyone regret their actions. In the last seconds she decides that maybe it's not what she truly wants but will it be to late to finally regret all that she's done? My Thoughts: I found it really hard to like Here Lies Bridget. The main reason being Bridget herself. She's so incredibly selfish. I couldn't relate to her at all and felt like every bad thing that came her way was deserved. We can see that she felt brief moments of remorse though this made me hate her more because she should've stopped treating others so terribly. Also, nothing was happening. All we were doing was dragging through Bridget's past to find out why she wanted to hurt herself and really, it was pretty anticlimactic. I almost gave up around the 60 page mark but decided to skim the pages until we got back to the part where she'd had the car crash to see where it would head. I'm kind of glad I did because half-way through when we returned to the present day, things interesting. Bridget is stuck in some kind of limbo where she has to reassess her past actions and decide if it's worth living to fix the lives she's ruined. Seeing the other people's point of views about days that we've already seen through Bridget's eyes as well as how she reacts to this is why Here Lies Bridget still managed to get 2 1/2 stars. Paige really thought out how their different personalities would bring about their different reactions. I think she went a bit easy on Bridget in the end though. I can understand what happened with Meredith and the others but not Liam. I don't think his reaction was in line with reality. And the paranormal element that worked it's way in was unnecessary and created consistency errors. I can see others enjoying this novel but in the end, it just wasn't for me. Final Opinion: Here Lies Bridget is a novel for those who have felt terrible about their actions whether small or large. While you can't always make things right again, the best place to start is with the words "I'm sorry" and to become a better person from that point onwards. First Sentences: I pressed down on the accelerator. It felt good to have power back in my life. Even if it was just power over my car, or power over my fate: dying or living.

I'm not happy with 4...so 5 it is! ---------------------- I really like it so much that I even read it at work hahaha! I'd give it a 4 1/2 stars! but since I can't I'm settling for 4. Wanting for more, I read the "acknowledgments" too, and I'm glad I did coz as much as I fell in love with the story, still, nothing beats a true to life one. I'm referring to the author's words for her husband! Sooo sweet! Can't wait for the next book!

So the sequel to I Am Number Four was terrific. I finished it with the same excitment as reading the Percy Jackson series! You get to learn about Number Seven while still following the story of John Smith, Six and Sam where the first book left off. Don't want to give anything away, so I will leave it at that. What a great book! :) I hope they make a movie out of it.

A wonderful continuation of Zeeta and Layla's nomadic life this time in Aix-en-Provence in France. Based on a vision by her boyfriend, Wendell, Zeeta and her mother come to this lovely little town that is overflowing with fountains (pun intended) and may also be the home to ancient magical waters. After a rocky start to being reunited Zeeta and Wendell again find a mystery to solve that takes them all over Aix (above ground and underground). Even though I read this book (and had to rely upon the extensive glossary/pronunciation guide the author so kindly put at the back of the book) I didn't feel I missed out on any of the language of Zeeta and Layla living in France. It was so beautifully written and the descriptions of the locations, the food and the people made the story come alive for me. You can definitely tell that Resau is intimately acquainted with the locations she writes about from the detail of the settings, food and experiences. Of any of the books that I've read where travel to a foreign locale is predominant I think this series makes me most want to visit places I've never heard of or considered visiting.

While I did get a bit tangled in the sea of unusual characters this book was wonderful and bizarre. I've never read a book so meta-fictive. I didn't think I would end up liking any of the characters but Carley and Bree had their own unique stories to tell.
