It was a lot of fun to read, but extremely short! I think it only took about 45 minutes read it, and that is saying a lot when you have four little kids running under your feet. Thomas is the one telling this story, and I really enjoyed seeing everything from his perspective. Very entertaining! Keep 'em coming!

This book deals with a boy with Asperger's syndrome which is on the austism spectrum. I have a friend who has an autistic son (on the high side) and it really helps you to understand what someone goes through raising a child with a disability.

Seriously, fear the Mormons. Fear religion in general. A very interesting book that is scary and sobering about the role of religion in the lives of some disturbed people, and about the growth of mormonism as a whole. Well written and fascinating.

A fascinating back-story of the pre-eminent position nitrates held in human lives and how a chemical process averted genocide by starvation for the human race, and lets the present civilisation live way beyond the means of "organic" production. Also engrossing is the story of inventors Carl Bosch and Fritz Haber and their different paths and contributions to modern science and society, and of course the jewish-nazi conflict. A very good book because it draws a parallel between an earlier crisis that was bested by human ingenuity and the as yet unknown fate that will befall society after its stand-off with climate change.
A small gem of a book that holds up remarkably well and offers many insights into the nature of memory. In my opinion, superior to Oliver Sack's early books, many of which take a similar approach to a similar subject.

I’d probably go with 1.5 for this one. It was excruciating to get through for me!! I started reading it 6 months ago and ended up putting it down because I thought I would pull my hair out. The addition of the other werewolf pack drove me nuts and seemed completely unnecessary, since there were already too many chaotic plot threads and characters in this series anyway. Also, MOST importantly, I could see where the romance was going and it INFURIATED me!! The romance was the very reason I’ve continued this series for as long as I have and I could not believe how it was handled--mainly, the huge issue for me was that there was no real focus on Jess and Pietr’s issues, no hope of resolution or work towards anything! This series focus has increasingly dispersed (for lack of a better word) with each new installment. Jess and Pietr have almost become a side-note in the ever-increasing storylines and points of view. So, what I enjoyed about the story and what kept me reading it has become completely destroyed and lost in the pile of rubble this series has become!! So, I literally laid the book down for 6 months and forgot about it. I finally ended up skimming the rest of it because I got book #5 in the mail. (Why on earth did I preorder this?! What was I thinking?! Must not have been…) So, complete masochist that I am, I feel compelled to finish off this train wreck of a series and see if there is anything at all salvageable here… I’m already feeling like I’d be justified in asking for my money back from the author for the time I’ve wasted on these books so far, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed that there is some hope for a satisfying ending (heck, I’d even take ‘okay’ or ‘tolerable’ at this point!!). Please, Ms. Delany, don’t make me regret retaining a sliver of faith here!! I’m BEGGING you!!
