'Sit Ubu Sit' is a sweet, funny and often touching book by a man who isn't afraid to express his love and admiration for his wife, family, friends and pet dog. I found this very refreshing and I wish more celebrity autobiographies could be this enjoyable. It was also lots of fun getting the inside scoop on "Family Ties," one of my favorite TV shows. The only thing I don't like is that the chapters aren't in chronological order. One chapter you're in the '60s, then you're in the '80s, then you're in the '70s and then you're back to the '80s. I got a little confused trying to keep the events in order. Maybe Goldberg thought he would lose his audience if he didn't mention Michael J. Fox at regular intervals. He didn't need to worry. Check it out! You'll laugh, cry and hug your own "Ubu."

Watchmen is worth reading, although I wasn't as blown away by it as some people were. To be fair, it's the first graphic novel I've read, so I really have nothing to compare it to. There were sections I was a bit bored by (the pirate side-story), but I did enjoy the uncompromisingly flawed characters.

Hanya butuh waktu kurang lebih 5 jam untuk menyelesaikan buku ini. Dan sudah termasuk disela dengan makan, mandi dan nonton TV. Membaca dari halaman pertamanya saja sudah mulai membayangkan filmnya nanti gimana. Seru, penasaran dan masih banyak pertanyaan yang belum kejawab di buku pertama ini. Bercerita tentang 9 anak dari planet Lorian yang memiliki kelebihan (PUSAKA) dan penjaganya. Gimana mereka harus dilarikan ke Bumi karena bangsa pembunuh dari planet lain yang kejam menghancurkan planet mereka. (klise memang, tapi tetap relevan juga karena cara bertuturnya memang sangat menarik). 3 anak sudah terbunuh. Tinggal 6 lagi yang tersisa dengan kemampuan yang perlahan2 mulai berkembang. Di buku pertama kita diperkenalkan dengan tokoh si no 4 alias John dan penjaganya Henri. Bercerita dari sudut pandang John, mulai dari perjalanan mereka di Florida sampai di Ohio. Gimana si John mulai nggak sabar dengan kehidupannya yang selalu beda dengan yang lain, jatuh cinta untuk pertama kali dengan Sarah yang cantik dan memesonanya, punya sahabat Sam yang ayahnya hilang waktu dia masih usia 7 tahun dan juga tentang kemampuannya Pusakanya yang semakin bertambah. Petualangan yang seru.. Nggak sabar ingin tahu cerita selanjutnya. Yang bikin unik si Pengarang pun bikin nama palsu yang ternyata adalah Tetua Utama Planet Lorian. Hehehehe.. Unikkkk.... Semoga cerita selanjutnya minimal sama bagusnya dengan yang pertama ini.

The second book that follows Macro and Cato is almost as good as the first, but not quite. Here we see Cato really finding out what it's like to be a man - standing on his own two feet, suffering betrayal, triumph and yet more betrayal... Scarrow never fails to keep me hooked, with Macro's skill and brutality, and Cato's underlying bravery - and I can really see his characters growing and look forward to reading more.

A steampunk fantasy or ‘weird’ fiction novel- that I would describe as dark and not for the faint of heart, The Scar takes place in Bas-Lag after Perdido Street Station. Bellis Coldwine is fleeing New Crobuzon because of her association with Der Grimnebulin (a character central to events that took place in Perdido Street Station) as all of his associates are being questioned and some are disappearing. As an ex-lover of Der Grimnebulin’s, Bellis knows it is only a matter of time before she’s found and decides to flee on board a ship bound for Nova Esperium, but the ship is attacked by pirates and the survivors are kidnapped and taken to Armada, a floating city made up of thousands of ships acquired in the same way as the one Bellis was traveling aboard. Not all inhabitants of Armada are unhappy to be there, as it is a safe haven for those that were bound for penal colonies- a way to start over as an equal and contributing member of society. Bellis is not one of the individuals that finds solace aboard Armada, continuously trying to find ways off Armada. Bellis finds herself at the center of various plots, including a mysterious plan hatched by Armada’s equally mysterious leaders to explore uncharted waters and a plan to save New Crobuzon from a near mythical threat. A bit slow to start off in the first few chapters, Mieville makes up for this when the story gets going. Full of espionage, battles with fantastic creatures and interesting characters- I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Perhaps, even a tiny bit more than Perdido Street Station. Mieville’s characters are interesting, as are the places described within. Mieville can certainly write! As with Perdido Street Station, my only complaint is that I want to know more about the characters and their stories. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoyed Perdido Street Station.
