It's pretty interesting so far. When you think of Albert Einstein you usually thing Math or Science. I didn't know he thought and wrote so much about other stuff.

Offered such promise but was unfortunatley a let down. I read this book and expected to come away with a better understaning of voice-hearing but instead received a short history lesson on past voice-hearers such as Joan of Arc. While I appreciate the author's attempt to pull direct experiences into the book he fell short of pulling everything together into a cohesive message. The organization of the book was also frustrating. The chapters did not flow and I found it difficult to finish (it took me almost a month to finally plod through it). Yet - maybe that was the point Smith was trying to make. Voice-hearing still isn't well understood and people who experience it are often schizophrenic. If he was trying to mimic schizophrenia then job well done.

There are so many things in this series that ring true--namely, the focus on sex (discussion of, speculation on, and who's having) in the recent books--but there's just as much that never really feels genuine, like how excited the whole school gets over school dances. As with all the recent Alice titles, this one covers a lot of ground--dating the Bad Boy to shed the good-girl image, drunk driving, Issues with stepparents, friend with leukemia, and Boys and Boys and Boys. For all the Problem Novel areas it covers, it's remarkably non-preachy. This entry into the series isn't bad, as the Alice books go, but that doesn't mean it's a great book.

Not as good as some of her other books. I didn't think the vignette style linked well together and just seemed fragmented.
great plot

Great book of Trivia! Learned a lot from this book. It was good in that the answers to all the questions were short and concise. A great read at only 250 pages!!!
What a wacky book! It is narrated very strangely. The author/narrator reveals what the grand finale will be like almost immediately. Besides that, things are described in an odd way either by stating the obvious in a silly way or by showing little doodles drawn by Vonnegut himself. It tells the story of two characters who are going to meet but bad things will happen when they do! I wouldn't exactly call the plot gripping but the narration is just so weird, so original that it was quite enjoyable.

I'd guess that someday I'll read this book (the whole thing) and really get it and wonder why it took me so long. But at this point, I have yet to finish reading it, having gotten bogged down in the strangeness.

I treated myself to this book after finishing an obnoxiously thick political text. The fact that I devoured the thing in under fifteen hours kinda makes me sad. Such a tasty treat should last longer.
