Read this a second time and it's taken me a little time to read through it. I found it quite difficult to connect to Talin (Tally) as at the start I find her particularly annoying. She seems to be afraid of everything and seems to swing backwards & forwards between treating Clay as her friend and then treating him as an enemy. But I got back into it. And even thought I have read this book before, I started to understand Tally a little bit more the second time around. She is an interesting character - someone with real strength who initially comes across as being quite weak. It's quite a difficult feat to be able to develop a character like that and for readers to not just empathise with her but also get them to believe that she is really strong. Nalini Singh does a great job. Each of her books have very different characters - they are very unique and the world that she has created of Psy, changlings and humans is incredibly detailed and believable.

The guy who was in this book lost his lunch box, his keys and his coat, but he still taught the class for the rest of the day. It was a fun and happy book.

Dubliners by James Joyce was not my favorite of the books I read this summer. Although I usually thoroughly enjoy the way it was composed of short stories like those found in The Things They Carried, I found it confusing with a lack of tie between stories. I would often find my self having to re-read passages from this book from lapsing into reading without comprehension due to becoming so bored with the book. Overall it really wasn't that bad but definitely not one I would recommend for pleasure.

a little odd for my taste but I still had to finish it. I am still wondering if I liked it.

On further thought, I dropped my rating down to two stars. This book read more like a magazine article called "How to Totally Eat Healthy - The Right Way!!" in Woman's Day. (Does that still exist?) It was basically just a list of common sense, already-well-known advice (buy at farmer's markets! don't eat cheetos! grow your own veggies!). It lacked the insight and personal experience that made Omnivore's Dilemma so great.

Another great continuation of the stories.

Great book is kind of a pop-up book for grown ups. An obscure post card artist in London receives a letter from a woman on a South Pacific island indicating she can actually see what he is painting. The books follow their correspondence through actual postcards and letters folded into envelopes. It feels as though you are reading someone's private letters. Very decadent and totally enthralling.
Okay not what I thought for the spin off series from Vampire Academy. Just hope that it don't get to over done as the series goes on.
