This book was a great read aloud! The students were able to relate to how they've felt when their parents would make them clean their rooms. They also shared some of the tricks they use to get around doing it thoroughly. It was a hilarious discussion and led perfectly into a writing activity in which the children wrote about chores they have at home and what is expected from them. It was a blast!

Really liked this one. I always enjoy a kick-ass heroine and I particularly loved Cass because I was totally onboard with her mission. Even though she does some legally questionable things there was no moral conflict for me because she was all about saving the kids. I also like how Flynn dealt with finding out about the paranormal stuff. He struggled with it and with Cass's less than legal behaviour at times but never took it out on her or pulled back from their relationship. Also enjoyed the crime boss. Can't wait to read more

This book was a great summary. I have already read some more detailed books though so it didn't have much new information. It would have been a good book to read as an introduction.

another great little fantasy type book. It was an easy read, but loved the whole concept of the story, about a girl born with a fighting 'grace', which makes her unbeatable as a fighter. It kept me interested and loved the characters.

Terrible writing, terrible history, and anti-Catholic. I know it's not a history and people are free to write pretty much whatever you want, but with that footnote at the beginning and the 3rd grade sentences, you actually get dummer as you read it. Eat some solid food and spend your money on Sherlocke Holmes, Umberto Eco, and NT Wright or even Bart Ehrman.

A very great quick read. Very enthusiastic author. The books begins by explaining that we spend nearly 75% of our time at our work. Many people go through their work day in a "robotic" manner with no personal involvement, energy, investment, or desire to do their job. Amusingly, the author's boss, described a particular department of a company as "The toxic energy dump". The author's assignment is to change this department into a lively, energentic, creative, productive department. While trying to escape the misery of this assignment one day at lunch, she discovered the world famous Pike Place Fish Market. And that's ended my reading for the day.
