Re-read after years. Still powerful and haunting. Will look for film made years ago that was excellent.

This was another teenager book I read growing up, very twisted good book.

I couldn't finish this. There is some great writing, but it's just too explicit and gross in places.

Perfectly pleasant, Sarah Dessen is the YA Nicholas Sparks. Her books never disappoint in the least, but also don't reverberate inside your head for days trying to reconcile themselves.

Pretty amazing and eye-opening read. I learned way more about tumbleweed than I expected. It also felt timely - taking a look at how people are capable of really messing things up with the government encouraging them all the way.

Paranormal erotica! Gotta love it.
This is the author's doctoral dissertation in revised form. It was originally published in 1939. It is dated now, however any student of Jewish mysticism or western esotericism must be familiar with this seminal book, if for no other reason than to challenge it. Trachtenberg primarily relied on merely a handful of sources, Sefer Hasidim being the most primary.

I'm not sure how i feel about this book. since a lot of it is true, it didn't really have a plot. it was descriptions of events, some seemed unrealted things that he just remembered and some went with the book. It was interesting because it didn't talk about how he felt hardly at all. You just had to sort of guess by what he did and what was going on around him how he felt. It was mostly about what it's like to be a marine, i guess, and it's such a massive subject that with this book you just get pieces and parts of the experience.

Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat by Lynne Jonell “Miss Barmy said that good girls didn’t care too much about being noticed—so Emmy tried not to care.” She tries not to care that no one notices her straight A’s, her shelves of ribbons and trophies … that no one even seems to notice her. Emmy’s parents are always on vacations (they are rich, from a recent inheritance), and her classmates never play with her (that makes it easy for her to do schoolwork during lunch). The only one who really notices her is her nanny, Miss Barmy, and she mostly scolds Emmy. Emmy goes to school, does the best she can, but still, no one pays attention. At school she sits by the class’s pet rat. The Rat is bad and she likes him for it: he snaps at the other kids’ fingers, he sneers at their mistakes, he makes cutting remarks. And there’s that, Emmy can hear the rat talk. Naturally, she starts talking back to The Rat. She and the sassy rodent develop a kind of friendship that goes undisturbed until a day when, after being bitten by The Rat, one of Emmy’s classmates, a well-liked soccer player, notices them. The Rat escapes, Emmy follows, and she and the soccer player wind up in an adventure they never could have imagined. Flip the pages and see what happens. Prop suggestion: stuffed rat Book has animated falling rat in margins Fantasy, Humor Grades 4 and up
