The book jumps back and forth in time so I felt the disconnect. It was also a bit hard to believe that black jazz musicians would have chosen to stay in occupied Paris when they should have just focused on getting out to someplace safe. Liked it nevertheless.

One of the best books ever written. You almost forget what you're actually reading about, and he writes about his obsession in a descriptive, delicious way that is never cloying. Also extremely funny, which is difficult, considering the topic. Vanity Fair called it "the only convincing love story of our time."

This started out very promising, I love any psychic crime-fighting institution premis. That's not really what this turned out to be though. Also, I suppose I didn't see the M/M/M/F, because when Reily turned out to be a girl I was a little thrown off. But I got over that and started to like the character. It's when the story went from being about this guy who just got out of a coma and is seeing his loved ones, to being about this chick surrounded by three hot guys, that my attention waned. First half of the book I would have given 4 stars, second half only 2.5. Edit: the more I think about this book, the more frustrated I get that I paid $6 for it. Before I was also thinking that I might give a sequel a chance ( since it says it's book 1) but now I know for sure that I won't waste my money. I'm downgrading from 3 to 2 stars.

Didn't like it as much as the first two. Was a little disappointed in the ending. Update- I read it again in July, 2012. Got more out of it this time & definitely liked it better.
