I got this book through a first reads giveaway, and through the first few chapters, I was wondering if I was going to be able to finish it. It starts off really slow. You've been forwarned. But somewhere around the halfway point, I was hooked. The story is very interesting, and was really unlike anything I've come across before. Worth a read for sure.

After slogging through Mr. Darcy Takes a Wife, I was hesitant to take this one off my shelf. I gave it a few months and finally read it, and I can safely say that I wasn't overwhelmed by it, but at least I didn't want to burn it. This book was a quick read. It gave another perspective of what might have been going on in Darcy's head during the events of P&P. I wish it had fleshed Darcy out more. The whole reason I want to read books like this are to get another interpretation of a character whose growth was never really explained. It did stay relatively true to source so I can't fault it for that. If you can borrow it, buy it cheap, or really want another POV then go for this.

christ! this book is hard to read. yet i cant stop trying. been reading it for going on fifteen years and can grok about 35% of it by now. well worth anyones time.

I really enjoy this book. Sadly, the series seems to go downhill after the first book. I wish it didn't, because I would love to read more of "Dragonsong" quality.

A great vacation read (it took me a half-day to read the whole thing) and a must-read for any female attorney. It's a hilarious story of an overworked London lawyer who loses her job, but then finds a new one....as a housekeeper.
