Typical, it takes me a month to start to get through this book and I read the last 200+ pages in a day... I read about 100 pages of this book in the beginning of last month but put it down due to lack of time and not really wanting to read when I did have time. A reading slump probably. The problem with stopping at page 111 is that, once I got back to this book, it was as if I had started from the beginning as I felt surprised once things started happening all of a sudden. I realised after finishing the book that I was just out of whack from not picking this book up for almost a month. Now to the actual book. I hated feeling so hopeless for the characters as the failed time and time again. I knew that had to do it somehow and realised it had something to do with the gate thing before they did. Speaking of which, I know it was vital for the end, but Alex, come on...that was a terrible idea. Despite knowing what happened to him going in to this book, it was still extremely upsetting to read, especially because of the pain that Willow and the other characters felt. (view spoiler) It was a horrible mistake that Alex made and he had to pay for it a little bit at least. The final battle; where do I begin? There is so much I could say about this but I wouldn't know where to start. What I will say it that it was almost too easy. Not like, they didn't give up anything and they had an easy road, but that there were so many problems cropping up throughout the book: (view spoiler) In the end, all it took was one thing that Willow did and it all seemed to be solved. I know that's how it tends to happen in books like this and Willow did sacrifice a lot to make it happen, but it just seemed more noticeable in this book. I am missing so much in this "review". All the other stuff that happened, all the people that died and the whole Sebastian thing - which I think panned out exactly as it should've - but there's just too much. One more thing I will say though...The ending was perfect. A bit cheesy at times, but I didn't mind too much because it wrapped up so nicely that I couldn't not be happy with it.
