A gay friend of mine named Eric (He claims he's not gay, whatever doesn't really matter to me) insisted I read this book. He claimed it was great! Perhaps I was in a bad place at the time or maybe because my rambunctious friend hyped it too much but, I just wasn't all that impressed... HOWEVER (a huge however) it has the most amazing love story in it. I recommend watching the movie, one of the few cases where a movie (in my opinion) turned out better than the book. Anyway, back to the love story, maybe the best I've ever read/heard/saw I spent the whole movie/book literally on the edge of tears wishing beyond all hope she could just tell him!!! Damn it! Just say it! One other interesting part was when one of the geisha's told the story of 'the little eel finding its way into the cave' OMFG-LMAO! too funny. P.S. in the movie many of the actors were Chinese (as opposed to Japanese which is who they portrayed) but, you wouldn’t know it if no one told you; they pull it off quite well.

The second half of the book is more gripping than the first one. Now looking forward to the second installment.

Definently not the existential marvel of cannery row, sweet thursday is still and adequate follow-up with sitcom-like charm. imagine seinfeld meets stienbeck. this book also displays a drastic difference in steinbecks writing post WWII.

Holiday Sparks by Shannon Stacey Rating: 4 stars I just read the first story in this anthology, and I have to say that it's really good for a short story (and especially considering that this is more of an erotica than romance novel). I don't like erotica all that much as a main focus of the book, and this story really balanced it - there were a few (non-gross) sex scenes, but there was enough background to the characters and it was planned ahead that is turned out like a perfectly normal love story with perfectly healthy sex appetites. I really liked it. All She Wants For Christmas by Jaci Burton Rating: 2 stars I expected more from Burton. This just turned out to be a sappy story with a lit of romantic gibberish that really has no standing, and feels very unrealistic. Fairy tales with happy endings are nice and all, but sometimes a bit of real life in the mix does more good to the stories than not. I don't like the summaries for the next two stories in this book, Unwrapped and Believe, so I am going to skip on them in order not to give them a lousy grade. I do love romance stories, but the characters in these are a little too unrealistic, and while I loved fairy tales with happy endings when I was a kid, I just need more action in my books (meaning plot-wise) to make it appeal more to me. This ARC was received via NetGalley.

40-LOVE this book! Every day a new tennis vignette. Although it didn't improve my serve, it improved my literary score!

Good mystery that has twists and turns. Two agents work together to solve insurance crimes with a little murder on the side. Nice easy read.

Library copy. This book reads quickly and I think my daughters will enjoy it too. It's a tad-bit preachy, at times, about the environment, but I think my youngest will definitely benefit from seeing how soil compost is made through words and pictures. The book has many good messages about taking the initiative within the community and why growing a neighborhood garden is beneficial when weighing the options of imports and exports. Best of all, my daughters will appreciate a female protagonist taking center stage and learning valuable lessons along the way like, what can be gained from a neighborhood cleanup? and why one shouldn't buy expensive name brand shows.
I read this because my bf wouldn't let me NOT read it. I had to discuss it (and still revisit it on ocassion) to better understand the themes and cull from it as much as possible. Better than I anticipated and warrents a second reading.

Serinin en az favorim. Bir sürü ezici depresyon ve kötü ruh sağlığı yanı sıra sevmediğim yan erkek karakteri.
