it is an awesom book ^^ i was sad with logan dying n evrythin but tis book also had hope of the future da past i hope aura will find herself back on track n finally understand her past... i also want to see her with zach she deserves to b happy
My main problem with this book is that I never felt close to anyone, and I surely didn't understand anyone's motivations (including the narrator). I wanted to like it so badly. It goes by quickly.
I wanted to like this more, but I didn't find it very engaging.

I must admit I was disappointed with this book. It started off strong with descriptions of the book conservation & even the first "story" of the book, but it lost steam half way through the book. Too bad because it had potential. I liked it, but didn't love it the way I thought I would after the reading the beginning.

** spoiler alert ** Early drivel from the man who will evntually pen the excellent One Day [image error] The Understudy by David Nicholls Read By Tristan Layton Source CD Duration 9 Hours 30 Minutes blurberoonies - Steve C. McQueen’s only screen credits are playing dead bodies on cop and doctor shows, and now he's paying the rent by understudying movie sex symbol Josh Harper, who’s trying to gain dramatic credibility in a West End play. If only Josh would miss a performance, Stephen could get his big break, prove his talent, and redeem himself in the eyes of his disapproving ex-wife and their precocious seven-year-old daughter. Stephen gets his chance when he stumbles on a secret that puts Josh in his debt. It's an extremely sticky situation, made all the stickier by Stephen’s growing relationship with Josh’s wife. Stephen is about to discover how good an actor he really is. The author David Nicholls's TV credits include the third series of Cold Feet, Rescue Me, and I Saw You. He was co-writer for the film adaptation of Simpatico, which starred Nick Nolte, Jeff Bridges and Sharon Stone. STARTER FOR TEN was a Richard and Judy Book Club bestseller in 2004, and David has written the screenplays for forthcoming film versions of both STARTER FOR TEN and THE UNDERSTUDY. Most recently, David wrote a modern version of Much Ado About Nothing for BBC TV, as part of a Shakespeare season which screened in 2005. The Narrator TRISTAN LAYTON has performed in plays in London and New York and served as a television host. He's done voice work for documentaries as well as for television and radio commercials. Tristan's audiobook credits include reading Ross King’s The Judgment of Paris, Sebastian Faulks's Devil May Care, and David Nicholls's The Understudy. Known as “The Master of Accents,” Tristan currently lives in New York.
It was not a captivating plot to me. If you enjoy Twilight, then this is the book for you. Prose was too simplistic for my taste (way too many cliches), and I hated how everything was spoonfed to me. For example: "When she saw him, she immediately felt scared and trembled." No way. I totally wouldn't have figured that out myself. There were way too many of those on every single page. Had to put the book down.

I got it for Sid but then I didn't have a book so I've been reading it instead. there is no way he is going to get through it. This book is really interesting. It starts wih the first Jew, Abraham and traces from the Old Testament the lives of Jews all the way to present day. I thought it would be fascinating to have a copy of the bible nearby (I don't) to compare passages with those in the book, because it pretty much follows it chronologically. That being said, I didn't even make it through a quater of this book. I mean, it's long! And written in a very researchy historian kind of way that I appreciate for the scholastic merit, but hardly find entertaining. It takes a while to absorb all of the information that is in one paragraph! this book is great for people who are interested in well done non-fiction research. Right now I need something a little more gripping.

Second book I read on my Kindle and it is bad! Awful grammar and spelling mistakes and some of it is totally lifted from Twilight and Vampire Diaries with none of the panache of the originals! Edit - sorry if this seems harsh - it is just my personal opinion.

In all honesty, I picked up this anthology strictly to read Winter Born, Dante & Pandora's story by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Usually, I simply read the one story because I cannot jump into the worlds of the other stories. This book surprised me. I enjoyed all the stories. It only gets a 4 Star rating though because even though I liked Clay & Maya, I do not believe "Red Moon Rising" was written very well. "Make It Last Forever" was an entirely different situation. I loved the characters, the story brought out every emotion I have, but did it have to end like that? :(

The Golden Compass was one of the best books that I have ever read filled with adventure and fantasy. This book was about a world different from ours, which isn’t that much different from ours other than the fact that each person had a partner with them that would stay with them their whole lives, daemons who can talk and change into multiple animal forms until they reach adulthood where they have to choose to stay in one form only. The main character of this story is a young girl called Lyra and her daemon Pantalaimon. In this story many children in their world are being kidnapped and experimented on because the children attract an important dust that connected to something bigger and more important. Lyra and her daemon are captured as well and sent off to a land full of snow and kept prisoner there with other children. Lyra tries to escape the prison and tries to help a new friend that she had met there as well. When I first began reading this book was confused because I didn’t really understand the situation at first, as I continued reading I started enjoying it. However when I got up to the part about the dust and particle and all those other philosophy theories I started to get confused about what they were talking about. Overall this was a great book with a good plot.
