Stephen King does high fantasy! It's far from a typical sword-and-sorcery story, and it's told in a mesmerizing fashion.

Torn about this book. I Never Promised You A Rose Garden is one of my all time favorite books and was the first book I read by Joanne Greenberg (under the pseudo name of Hannah Green), and I couldn’t help but make comparisons. But this is a great novel. Very interesting and moving. A terrific job is done showing the palpable isolation and loneliness of the deaf couple and also the struggle of their hearing daughter. A wonderful family story. Read it years ago but remember so many details. One part that made an impression on me was how after dark in bed the deaf couple could not talk with each other because they couldn’t see each other’s hands.

There's not much more to say than this is another example of Margaret Atwood's talent as a novelist and writer. Amazing as usual

One of the most comprehensive introductions to Sufism in the English language and the one that introduced me to Sufism from 'within' rather than through academic reading. Simple and inspiring.

This book was so beautifully written, i use it to compare to many books. I fell in love with the whole antique thing, and i've always wanted an old typewriter. The title caught me off gaurd, but made it all the interesting. I was thinking, "is this for real? or figurative?" This book is insightful and adorable, and wrapped up nicely.

Basically a book on self discovery. Colby is sent to Greece so her parents can get divorced. It's a book where Colby discovers that you can be happy with what you have, that the "crazy" people in life are probably the most sane, and that in the end, everything will be ok. I especially liked this book because I read it when MY parents were going through their divorce. It gave me hope. Not in the sense that they were going to get back together, ('cause that's Ridiculous!) but in the sense that everything is going to be ok. There is a page in the book that I found myself re-reading over and over again to get my feet planted when things got hectic at home. Because of this I would tell myself, "It's gonna be ok. It's hard right now, but I'm going to be ok, I'm going to live through this and be fine in the end." It basically gave me hope, and guess what, I was fine in the end. In all, the book was very good and funny.
