Read this for the third? fourth? fifth? time-- this time to the kids. I'm always surprised at how surprising it is, how meaningful, and how deep the wisdom runs. The kids loved it too-- although Ezra much more than Evie; he's at the perfect age. Can't wait to revisit it when Evie's older!

Tea: Why yes, I believe a half cup will do for now Overall a good solid intriguing read with some flaws that prevented it being great. Another author I had never heard of or read before (this is his debut novel). Definitely an adventure fantasy series, with a few twists and turns along the way. Nice start to the story, being thrust right into the middle of the action where the main character is fighting a war. I enjoyed the journal entries from the main character too (another reluctant hero) and would have enjoyed more of them. I also enjoyed the variety of characters presented in the story, kept things interesting where otherwise I might have put down the book and stopped reading. Some romance in the story, which was a little weak for me, I attribute the weakness to the characters foundational development. As was some parts of the magic presented, and the Emperor I felt could have been a lot stronger as a character. Good enough though for me to pick up the next book in the series. Tyrants and Kings The first book The Jackal of Nar (Tyrants and Kings, Book 1) had some flaws, overall it was still an enjoyable read. It follows a young man who becomes ruler of his land at the death of his father, only to be tasked by the Emperor himself with an almost impossible job. The Grand Design (Tyrants and Kings, Book 2) The Saints of the Sword : Book Three of Tyrants and Kings Kindle: Not yet Overall Rating: 3/5 Time Period: Unknown Heat: Tepid Main Character: Richius (aka Jackal) Species: Humans, non-human mythic creatures Subjects: Adventure, Magic, politics, war

که علامه جعفری درباره ی اثر جاویدان او "حج" می گوید:"تا حج شریعتی را نخوانده اید به حج نروید".
Whew! That was a long, dense, illuminating and intense read. Now for some fluff while I think about it!

Another of John Grisham's legal thrillers. This one has a young boy as witness to a crime. There is great tension between wanting to tell the truth and fear of the mob. This is a page turner.

A Doctorow-written piece that didn't make me want to claw my eyes out. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. It's just a pity the ending feels so sudden and forced. On the minus side: it still feels like he came up with an idea he wished to push and then tried to build a story around it, and there are several low points where the plot disappears into stereotypical Doctorow-ranting. Also, is it impossible for him to write a character who eats, uses, or wears something without him feeling the need to tell us the brand of the item and where it was purchased? Overall, it still feels like he's trying too hard to convince people of both his hipness and intelligence. On the plus side: his overuse and abuse of made-up words and the English language in general (along with his Disney-obsession) is far less prevalent in this book than in some of his other writings.

** spoiler alert ** I need to write this before this feeling leaves me. This book is wonderful. I cried through most of it and it touched my heart because it was just so honest. Reading Ingrid's diary was so honest and real and I just wanted to hold her in my arms and tell her it would be alright. Then I would cry because she was dead. I wanted to hold Caitlin too and Jayson and then I realized so many people were affected by this and how suicide just tears up everything we take for granted... I am so happy Caitlin found a way to be happy... and I am glad the book ended on that note. I needed it to for my own emotional well-being. One of my new favorite books.

The answers are, Yes, eventually; and Perhaps for now. Yeah, she's just as confused as you are.
