I think the reason why this was in Oprah's book club is that it is a story about a marriage. No happy ending, just a simple story about all the tough things that a poor couple goes through. I wasn't too interested and it took me a long time to get through the book.

A great story. It's about a lesbian growing up in the 60's, and was written in the 70's. She's very devil-may-care about everything, doesn't care what other people think, and doesn't see why it matters that she happens to enjoy women more than men - but she gets very understandably upset when others judge her harshly for this fact. Molly is a great character and her escapades are fun to read about. I also like that she is from a very poor background and works her way up. This part is realistic no matter her orientation.

This book was the best of the series. It wasn't as formulaic as the other ones. Dee Henderson has a way with compelling story. This story had me from page one. The story starts right after the end of the last book. I don't want to spoil anything from that book and this one, but the last book had a very tough ending which affects Stephen, the main O'Malley. The way the story is written is very beautiful and a great way to wrap up the series. One thing that troubled me was keeping up with all the O'Malleys. They didn't all seem to be mentioned. It had me wondering if Henderson had forgotten about some of them.
I absolutely love this author's writing style. It made me think I would like to know this character in real life, but I supposed it's really the author I'd like to sit down for tea with.
A lot of great topics for parents to consider in this book but as I am not much of a non-fiction reader, I think I would prefer seeing their writings in occasional articles rather than the full book. I believe that is how they originally appeared. I simply mean I set this one down a lot and was more motivated to read the fiction I have going. The chapter on the Inverse Power of Praise was very intuitive to me but other chapters, re. race, testing for giftedness, and teen rebellion, offered some genuine surprises.
I bought a few books on editing before I purchased this one. THIS is the book I was looking for. It gives a good base to work off of for someone who has no editing experience. I then read the others to expand my knowledge.

Minimalist eye candy.
Me encantó este libro! Léelo si necesitas inspirarte. La premisa principal del libro es que cualquiera puede ser un líder, y todo lo que se necesita es elegir convertirse en uno en lugar de conformarse con el status quo.
