Carol Burnett her life, her rise to showbiz, her relationships between the cast of her show. How Grandma influenced her and the tug on her ear. I reflected because I remember this show as I was growing up I loved it the dentist chair and Tim Conway and Harvey Cormen. http://youtu.be/PYzuchDBvCs I loved this show and the book was pretty good as well.

Just curious about how far "edgy" Christian fiction could go. Boy was I surprised. Okay, I admit it. At one point in this book, I actually caught myself saying a quick prayer for this family and then realized how ridiculous that was; these are fictional people, I reminded myself. But that sort of reaction tells you how wrapped up a reader can get into this story. Beyond that, this is a very fast read with wonderful hooks at the end of many chapters, making it hard to put down. The daring premise of illustrating how a Christian woman might get caught up in an affair and how she could find spiritual healing after was well done. A warning: the first half of this book has so much sexual content that one might begin to wonder if there really will be a Christian element at all; there is. In fact, one of the surprising style points in Sutton's writing is her ability to blend subtley into all of her characters while maintaining a pulse-pounding pace of action.

I have heard so much about this book before reading it. Yeah yeah- new york times bestseller and all that- but what really got me interested was that the motion picture that is being made was being filmed in a very dear part of China. After having the book on my shelf for a year- i read the book. It was freaking awesome. All emotions in the book. I cried, laughed, feared, got angry...you name it. If you haven't read it yet- read it....please.

I liked this book, it's quite interesting. The protagonist, Remy doesnt want to get hurt from relationships so she doesnt believe in love. Her mother (having had multiple marriages) is a good reason why Remy shouldnt believe in love. A boy named Dextor appears in Remy's life, and will he be able to change Remy's perspective?

A Chicago family during WWII. You get a sense of the sacrifices made by the people back home, not fighting the war. I struggled to make sense of the ending. It didn't ring true, but I still enjoyed it and would recommend it.

I love Flavia deLuce!
Enjoyed the book. I have read it a number of times. Even read it to my children when they were younger.

some really hilarios stuff in here. Elkin is an absolute master of the verbless sentence, just chock full of well-decribed nouns. There are great snatches of language here, but the itinerancy of the protagonist is not as well-worked as the cruising of the protagonist in Elkin's "Franchiser." The movement of the character/ plot is actually kind of irrelevant to what I found to mine in the book: the absurd pleasures of language
