Orwell's, 1984, is the story of one man's struggle against the ubiquitous, menacing state power (“Big Brother”) that tries to dictate nearly every aspect of human life. I must admit, at times it was a tough read but in the end it did get you imaging if what you read was fact or fiction. The line between fiction and reality start to blend.

Ugg...This book is probably my least favorite book. I know people consider this awful book a classic but I do not see why. I don't think I had ever read a book and fallen asleep until i read The Giver. No parts were truly exciting and i wanted to throw this BORING book out the window. I think if I ever have to read this book again I WILL cry and punch whomever told me to read it. The Giver is equivalent to my job, therefore, It sucked...

Dennis Cooper's best (and worst, for those of you with a weak nature *cough cough Esther cough cough*). It has all the qualities I love about Dennis Cooper's stuff: psychosexual tension, violence, drugs, alcohol, obsession, snuff, ahhh, the list goes on and on.

I enjoyed this book enormously. It had a couple of interesting twists and the Jack Reacher character is extremely likable. Enjoy!

this is a great book that gave me a whole new perspective on the classics and also spurred me to read and reread some classics - it's basically a review of classic novels through the view point of women in a secret book club in tehran - it's classified as a novel but definately partially memoir too - i love this book

In all honesty, I really only skimmed this one. I was moderately into the series when I finished Tempting Danger, but this was, from the start, was clearly on a lower level, and it just got worse. Not to say that it was a complete waste of time (I'm giving it 2 stars and not 1, after all), but it just got way too ridiculous. Half the book is spent in hell, for crying out loud. There are demons, dragons, and evil gods--all fine if you're reading real fantasy, but kind of over-the-top for this genre of Earth-bound paranormal romance. It might be worth reading if you're really into this genre, but don't expect too much.

It is a great piece of literature. The way that the writer developes the characters is very special. There is detective in this book that the last dialogue between him and the protagonist really surprised me. I admit that I liked it! And it is a journey to human mind, a difficult one. Rascolnikov can be any of us... A really different look at the concept of love. I'm not really sure if I liked the way the character of women was created in this story. In the last chapter, the journey seems to be finished. It seems that we are left behind and the protagonist is going on. The author says that a new journey is about to begin... And last but not least is that once was not enough!
