This is a awesome book. It is a graphic novel which makes the book even beter and the drawings in the book are great. The book is like a memoir about a jew named Vladik Spigelman who was in the holocaust. His son is the one who writes the book. So the book starts with Vladik before the war begand and then when the war begins it shows his struggle with him and his family to survive the german prosecution. Then after all of the running Vladik gets cauht and is sent to auschwitz and he survives. I liked this book alot because it taught me alot about the world in that time period and taught me how hard and terrifying it was to survive being a jew in europe. Also the drawings were great depictions of the events and the characters had alot of emotion in thier faces to show the fear and anxiety.

Love, so much love to go around! Holy cow! I have never seen anything like it. What to know what this book is about? Love. How much everyone loves each other-even though they are all married. Yes, you love your parents, sisters or brothers in law, but these people take it to a whole new level. If they're not saying I love you, they're saying how beautiful and gorgeous and pretty they all are. Ugh. GAG ME! I mean, how many times can one person say I love you? Its like in every other paragraph. I am not joking either. Its ridiculous. Whats with all the affection too? Honestly, why do they have to constantly touch each other? And I'm not talking about the two lead characters. I am talking about the brothers and how they love to kiss their brothers wives cheeks and hold their hands or put their arms around them and then proceed to tell each other how they're all loved and how they will always have each others back and how they love each other and how they have a family to support them and did I mention how they love each other yet? One thing that bugged me to no end was when Tate ended up in the hospital because her father gave her another concussion. Both Chase and Murphy families are there to support her. Great! Except for the when Edward, Matt's father, walked in and said something along the lines of, "Well done son, she's great". Huh? You're congratulating your son on how he found such a great wife-to-be when shes laying in a hospital bed and just had her head split open?? Last time I check, when you have a friend or family member in the hospital, you ask how they are doing, not say "shes great!" after she was knocked out. One good thing about Lauren Dane is that she cuts all the filler out (aka bullshit). There is no wasting time in between scenes. One scene ends, another starts. I have never seen it done before and I did like it. No small talk to just take up lines. But then again with all the I love yous I could be wrong. I will say that I did enjoy the series but I don't know if I will read the authors other books. I think they are a little too erotic for my taste.

I'll be back with a more comprehensive review but I was mildly disappointed with this book. I had heard so many great reviews but I just wasn't as taken with it as others have been. I liked Flavia and really enjoyed reading about her. However, I just didn't click with this book and don't know that I'm even interested in reading the next one.

I didn't realise it was part of a series and this made it hard to follow - lots of characters and references to past events and I kept getting them mixed up. I chose it as I'd seen several good reviews and misunderstood what it was going to be about to some extent. Quite enjoyed the style of writing though and the storylines, I enjoyed the prsent day stories of the 2 unplanned "purchases" more then the murder/mystery. I'm not a great fan of detective stories and although it was a pretty decent read I don't think I'll be reading any more by this author

This was a relatively light book. A gentle fantasy with a moral that smacks you upside the head. The young man's journey to get an item for his beloved is certainly not a new beginning, nor is the ultimate end, but the journey itself is full of unique adventure and interesting characters. I particularly enjoyed how the sub-plots and characters merged and came together -- on at least one occasion it was a character that I had forgotten about. Still, once done, nothing really stays with me. It is too light and fluffy. Probably a good tale for a younger set.
everything about this book is so pretty

Academic. Jungian and post-Jungian analysis. Nicely done. Of course I was right about The Sopranos.
