This one is a YA title. Not that good, in my opinion. I didn't get how the title fit with the plot. What, exactly, did she see? I thought the author tried to throw in too much - characters and plot points - for one story.

Enchantment is not a bad book. It's just not a great book. It plows the the same field as other customer service and business books. The only thing that differentiates it is the directness with which Kawasaki speaks. The message of the book is distilled in this quote. "Crap isn't enchanting . . . Jerks seldom enchant people."
Note for new readers: The book summary listed (as of 7/28/2011 at least), involving a character named Matthew Corbett, is for a completely different book. Ignore that description. Blue World is a collection of Robert McCammon's early short stories. This is the best of McCammon's work that I've read. Even after Swan Song, Boy's Life, and Mine, I prefer this collection of stories. They are an interesting, almost eclectic mix of horror, humor, and hope which serves as a very kind introduction to this author. It doesn't look like I'll ever be a fan of his, but some of these stories make me want to be.
Winner of the National Book Award - intriguing but very long... http://www.flickr.com/photos/7275613@...

An excellent apologetic overview of the Christian faith. The first half of the book shows how alternate views of the world come up short with regard to meaning, justice, and the problem of evil. The second half is a defense of the orthodox Christian faith and why it is not only reasonable but also the best explanation for human nature and the world we see around us.

I want to start out by saying that I really loved this book. It wasn't your typical smut-tacular read. Now, don't get me wrong, it was packed full of deliciously hot, dirty hot and scary hot smut. It was really tough for me to categorize this book...it's hard to explain the tone. The relationship between Evie-girl, Danny-boy and Paul-guy was not just a menage--no, it was way more complicated than that. I really hate giving away key plot details in a review, so it makes it more difficult. All I will say is that I can't remember reading a menage book where the characters involved in the menage have such distinctly different relationships--Eve & Paul, Eve & Danny, Paul & Danny and finally Eve, Danny & Paul. It was fascinating and frustrating, but not frustrating in a bad way--it frustrated me in a way that made me get sucked into the story even more! It would also be fair to say that I found it a little bit disturbing--but not in a way that turned me off and I would be hesitant to admit it turned me on. I shelved this book as "smut not fluffy", because despite the fun looking cover, there was a lot of dark shit going on in this book. There were also a lot of fun and exciting situations the characters experienced. I felt like I was being told a story about the lives of these three very tortured and very interesting individuals. I felt it had a little bit of a Megan Hart kind of vibe to it. If you are a fan of BDSM and like menage reads, then you should check this out. I will definitely read more by this author. I am looking forward to what she has in store for the future. ✳✳ Reviewed on I ♥ Bookie Nookie Reviews ___________________________________________________ If you like this type of book, you might enjoy one of these groups. it very very good book for the one who is in love
there are beautiful shirts in this book. really beautiful shirts.
This is the first Jennifer Donnelly I've read which I haven't given five stars to, which I find sad. It's good though; her debut isn't quite as full of scandal as the Tea Rose series that I adore, but it's got some excellent parts. Centering around a real murder, this book uses letters from the murdered girl and places them in the hands of Mattie, a fictional character. This allows the mystery to be built up while also focusing on a fictional story about growing up, first love, and independence. I loved Mattie and I loved her word of the day and the word battles with best friend Weaver. The scenes with the sisters were fun and I was really rooting for Mattie to be able to get to college. I didn't like Royal but I could see why she was a bit caught up in him - the conclusion to that story arc was dealt with in a very satisfying way.
