This book was amazing. I couldn't put it down. So very sad and upsetting though. How can men be so cruel? What is wrong with our world to allow such things to happen? The people in this story really moved me and made me grateful to be a woman living here in America. Beautifully written book, I highly recommend it.

I read all the Austen books this past year and enjoyed most of them. This is one I did enjoy a lot more than the others.

I wasn't quite too sure what to expect from this book. I knew a possession of sorts would take place, but how and why I wasn't sure. Aimee has always had dreams that predict the future, but only when people are going to get hurt. Aimee can also help heal others who are physically injured. Alan, a new member of the town, is not without his own 'traits' and 'quirks', originating in Native American traditions. And they both also have their own pasts, each with their secrets and fears. While Aimee's mother killed herself when she was younger, Alan has never known his father. Then there is the River Man. Aimee's town is haunted by mysterious and unexplained deaths that has happened for decades... Aimee finds out that she is connected to it all in a way she never could have believed. Carrie Jones and Steven Wedel did a wonderful job in creating a unique story with unique characters to match. I loved how they intertwined Native American traditions into modern paranormal occurrences. I also am a huge fan of novels that are from multiple perspectives - you are able to get both sides of the story. Carrie Jones and Steve Wedel do just that. Additionally, each character is given their own unique voice instead of being carbon copies of each other. Emotional heart strings are definitely pulled in this novel - the loss of a mother, father, and the possible loss of friends and family members. While overall I enjoyed this novel I do wish it was a bit more entertaining. Once you pass the first few chapters the novel itself does become a bit predictable. However, this predictability does not ruin the novel. One thing I did not like at all was Aimee's decision to break up with her boyfriend in the beginning of the novel. I agree that she needed to cut ties with him, but I feel it happened to quickly, without much, if any, development or real explanation. Beyond that, this novel was entertaining and recommended read, especially if you are a fan of Carrie Jones' Need series.

One of those books that, when finished, cause the exclamation, "I could have written that!" The story of the life of a dog and how he weaves himself into the Grogan family with bring a smile to your face and a tear to your eye. Lightweight, but heartwarming.

A much different read than my last book (The Kommandant's Girl - which I kept thinking about for the first few chapters of this one). Very anti-American, anti-coalition forces, anti-war; parts are very graphic. A serious read and a timely one about the war in Iraq. Takes you inside the mind of one suicide bomber and how he came to the point in his life where that was his only desire.

This book has some _great_ black and white illustrations. Unfortunately, the lack of color and/or "true" shading makes this a much better reference book for the artist (especially pen and ink) than for the armourer or armour historian.

A friend recommended this book to me last summer and I just finished it. Wow! The writings are of the author was what I needed to take in and digest ever so intentionally. Although I have been a Christian for awhile, it was so helpful as well as important to get back to basics. The author's approach to breaking down how to be Mary in a Martha's world was spot on. Her writing really ministered--who is so much a Martha type wanting to be Mary. How wonderful that in Christ we can have a balance in both. I really enjoyed it as well and would recommend it.

Beautiful book, especially good since I am going to northern Ontrario on Friday. Fantastic story telling.
Holy nail biter! Ok...I have to do a quick nail check! From the very first chapeter of Annie O'Sullivan's abduction to the shocking revelation of the final chapters...this book will have you on the edge of your seat!! A MUST read because this is suspense at it's finest! What a hit it out of the ballpark home run fist book for author Chevy Stevens!
