This book was excellent. It didn't feel like a work of fiction. It was moving and honest,Emmotionally stirring and at times very sad but with heart. This book has alot of heart under its rough exterior. I enoyed it throughly.

i got halfway through this one, but didn't have time to finish it because it was due back at the library. i may check it out again sometime, but it didn't really hold my attention too much.

Look.....*Largely, only people who have inclinations toward loving Christ are going to like this book. Period. Not that anyone couldn't be moved (and yup...full disclosure, I am one of those Christ loving folks, who yup -- I believe the "Spirit" can lead. Call me crazy. Makes me no nevermind), but there are all sorts of caveats, hurdles, whatever. And I know evangelical types (specifically, fundamentalists----and, no, those two terms are not interchangeable. MUST I explain everything to you nonbelievers?? :-) Okay, now I'm teasing and being sarcastic, but since you don't know me, well, perhaps that's not coming through....) ) who have problems with this book, too, albiet for completely different reasons that I'm not even going to try to explain here. Bottom line, the librarian in me has read a LOT of books, and many of the "I died for awhile, came back, and this is what I saw" variations, some by choice, some because my jobs necessitates that I read both popular titles and sleepers.. I also have read several titles that scoff such things. Again--bottom line, this is a decent, enjoyable read for those so inclined.

I think this is one of my favorites. I love postapocalyptic books, but this one really got to me. The eerie, creepy, mysterious fact that this could happen someday really hit home. I always wonder what it would be like to be the last one ...
