This is the crime that caused middle America to lock its doors. Truman Capote's book is outstanding in how it unmasks a pastoral rural lifestyle. The Clutter family could have been any of our families which is why it shocked the nation! A great insight into desire to do evil.

How to live in a higher state of mindfulness. How to harness energy without stealing it from others. How to live peacefully on this earth without destructing it. The meaning of coincidence. It's a novel with alot of insights on reflecting into your personal life. I have been using these ideas since I read the book for the first time nine years ago, and I have recommended it to many others.

Cute and sassy, a quick read...would have loved more though.
George Jackson has left an impressive document that will be read for many decades to come. Importantly, "Blood in My Eye" is a testament to a pivotal time in the US when the political left knew what it wanted-a position which is partially the direct by-product of the reality today. Jackson is an embodiment of the period successes and failures. He will forever be counted amongst "undefeated." In addition, he is one of the true freer ones for doing what he believe in. Thanks, comrade George!

Funny and sweet story about vampire tired of vampire life who wants to find the solitude and some meaning in his long life with a little help of his friends - unconventional pack of werewolves. Things don't work exactly as he planned as all hell descends on his new home: his friends, his friendly and sexy vet neighbor Tate, werewolf's sister, feral cats and, finally, his psychotic ex. This was entertaining, at moments farcical, take on supernatural beings. Werewolves who are getting help with flee control, sing show tunes with their vampire friend, vampire who feeds stray cats and finds pleasure in renovating his house... equals a lot of fun. If you want a serious paranormal story with the usual angst and horror - this isn't a book for you. Want some fun? Crying for the Moon fits the bill perfectly.

I usually like Shannon Hale's books more than this. I don't know, maybe she just couldn't make the main character real to me. "Jane" sort of annoyed me most of the time. I also didn't love the ending.

Everyone it seems has read this book as part of something for school, be it history or English. It seems to be for a good reason. Boyne has written a classic that i am sure will last for as long as Jane Eyre or Harry Potter. This heart wrenching tale of two boys, living in horrific circumstances, will stay with you long after the final page. I love the way Boyne keeps them both chillike. it is not a adult that writes these pages, but a boy who just carries on with life, not understanding the madness the adults he loves are doing.
