If you liked "Flags of Our Fathers," you must read "Flyboys." Bradley does a great job of not only detailing the lives and deaths of the U.S. Flyboys during WWII, but also takes a look on the other side -- that of the Japanese soldiers during that time. I know I gasped out loud at some points and cried in others. All in all, another knockout for James Bradley.

Collection of lovely short stories about children and adolescents. Very dark themes. They brought up a lot of emotions for me. Long after reading this book, I found myself thinking of certain of the stories. Each story is complete; she really knows how to write short stories well.

I think it's a right of passage to go through a Poe obsession when you are young. He goes so well with raging hormones, alienation and teen angst. A true goth God.

It's been years since I have read this, but it is undoubtably a beautiful book and it has stayed in my head all this time. Reading some reviews of it on BN.com is odd because people are saying that it gave them faith and made them believe in something about life after death. I am, always have been and I suspect, always will be an athiest. Reading this book and believing more about the afterlife is as ridiculous as reading... let's say another Book and basing your life on it. All in all, it is a beautiful love story and it will make you cry, and it will be worth it.

This is the third book in the Abbey Mysteries series, which is about thirteen-year-old Gwyneth Mason and her younger brother, Hereward, who live in Glastonbury, England, in 1190. Gwyneth Mason and her brother, Hereward, live in the town of Glastonbury, England, where their parents run an inn, in the year 1190. Ever since a fire several years ago, the Glastonbury Abbey is no longer attracting pilgrims, and as a result, the town has become poor. While the Abbey is being rebuilt, there is a wonderful discovery -- the bones of King Arthur and Queen Guinevere are found buried in the courtyard. Gwyneth knows this miraculous find will bring visitors to the Abbey again, and thus improve life for everyone in Glastonbury. But when the bones are stolen, all hope seems lost. Gwyneth and Hereward are determined not to give up, and set out to solve the mystery themselves. THE BURIED CROSS starts off a wonderful new Medieval mystery series for kids. Readers who enjoy other historical mystery series, such as The Roman Mysteries, are sure to enjoy this new series as well. I truly enjoyed the likable characters and unique setting of this book, and I look forward to reading future books in the series.

Very cute story about Santa and his red suit. Christmas wouldn't be the same if Santa changed his suit! Great Holiday book for children. Would be great right before Christmas break. This book could even be used for a math game on how many times "red" was used.
