I thought this particular self help book is going to be another one of those boring, lame, uninspiring motivational book, but I was surprised that it’s not only not boring, but very interesting to read as well. It is in fact, a book that changes my life forever. Well, not exactly my life, but close enough, as it helps me to put some spices in my marriage and makes me a much happier woman. This book, ’52 Ways to Wow Your Husband’ is for those who wants to bring some excitement into their mundane marriage life. You see… once you’re married for quite a period of time with your spouse, some of those ‘wow’ factor that you have before you got married is gone due to marital responsibilities and whatnot. And before you know it, your married life will be just another routine you’d have to bear, and you practically wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into.You didn’t sign up for a boring life of taking care of the kids all the time. And you definitely did not sign up to dealing with scrutinizing in laws. You signed up for a marriage because you love the man and wants to build a happy life together with him. This book teaches you how to wow your husband and bring back the romance into your marriage. This book covers from flirting with your husband, surprising your husband, planning a date with him and not to mention how to have a much more emotionally intensified sex life. You’re taught how to surprise your husband once a week with this book, and you’re supposed to make use of this book to improvise your relationship with your husband, and I’m sure glad I did picked up this book though I’m not a fan of self-help books. I enjoyed this book very much, and I enjoyed doing the ‘experiments’ and ‘assignments’ recommended by the book even more. I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. This book changes my life and helps bring some surprise element in my marriage, and I highly recommends this book to those who wants some wow in their marriage.

So, this one is fun. It's kind of an inbetween book. In between Graphic novels and chapter books, but a little more chapter book than Diary of a Wimpy Kid. But at the same time should appeal to that crowd. Very similar feel, except with a dragon. Funny illustrations and very cool "fitting in at school" type story. Oh and the fire breathing helps too.

** spoiler alert ** This book made me cry at the end. What with Claudine and Tray.. So much sad! Anywho, it was a nice break from all of the other book endings which always seemed to be all happy and resolved at the end. I'm sad that I will have to wait to read #11 after the next book but also excited as I have caught up on the series almost. I was also very much pleased at the union of Eric and Sookie. Oh yeah, the knife thing too. ;)

Rebecca is appalled when her Pa brings home an Indian and locks him up in the attic. She's terrified of Indians in general and her Pa says that this Indian is a murderer. But when she screws up her courage to bring the Indian some food, she begins to realize that maybe he's not as terrifying as she thought. Then a young lawyer comes to their cabin claiming to be friends with the Indian. He's going to defend "Indian John" at his trial. Rebecca knows that there is no chance Indian John will be found innocent, but maybe, just maybe, something spectacular will happen that could save his life. I found it a little hard to get into this book because the action starts pretty much right away and you don't get a lot of background about the characters. Short chapters narrated by Rebecca alternate with poems that show "Indian John" (Amik)'s point of view. As the novel went on, I found myself rooting for the characters and Pearsall includes a fabulous author's note and selected bibliography. Readalike suggestions: For another book set in the same time period and dealing with Native Americans, "Caddie Woodlawn" by Carol Ryrie Brink and "The Sign of the Beaver" by Elizabeth George Speare are ideas (though beware stereotypes!). For books about trials that deal with similarly unpopular peoples or ideas, suggest "Monkey Town" by Ronald Kidd or "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

I thought it was a really cool and amazing book. I read it with my 4th grade class and each tie our teacher would say we have to stop here everybody would go, awwwwwwwww cant we read one more chapter?
